“Great value!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2012

Very good hostel...clean, well organized, safe. We stayed in a 4 bunk room. Sink and small fridge. Toilet and shower. Lockers big enough for a large backpack...but bring your own padlock unless you want to buy one. Breakfast was fine...better than some hostels, but still, pretty average. More fresh fruit would be great. Excellent kitchen to prepare your own food...and not stuck away in a back room, so you can still see and visit with others while cooking. Lots of room in the common area and fantastic vibe...conducive to meeting others. Open mic night was great...lots of local talent...we didn't need to leave the hostel to have a nice evening. Also, while the majority of guests were youngish, we did see a great mix of ages...you don't need to be 20-something to enjoy this place. Some people even brought their young children. Tip...Eating out is not cheap here...so go to the fantastic open air market close by for super fresh and tasty food...bring it back here to eat.

Great hostel, very socialable, nice roof terrace, big kitchen and bar area and a tour desk for booking onwards travel and tours. Really central and right next to a tram plus walking distance from the nightlife of New Jerusalem and the shopping area.

Room Tip: any room is great

Abraham hostel is a hostel, so the rooms are not fancy at all, however the double rooms all have a fridge, small lamps, and several plugs.
There is a large common room hosting a bar at night, where breakfast is served in the morning (little choice, very good quality, and you have to wash your dishes afterwards). There is a well equipped kitchen with free coffee and tea. What is best, is that they organize several activities, like free tours to the old city, shabbat dinner, night entertainment etc. They also arranged for discounts in several restaurants, specifying which ones are open on shabbat. Very clean, in fact, everything smells of ammonia.
There is a private parking nearby, but they do not respect the fares that are written on the hostel map- they will ask for whatever fare they please. Location is great, steps from Yehuda market and a short walk to the old city.

Clean rooms, clean hostel. Well run with a warm and secure atmosphere. Very comfortable beds, quiet rooms with huge bright windows. All staff very service oriented. Terrific location near the market and the Old City. Easy transportation to museums. Simple aesthetically pleasing choices in colour and style. I would return.

We decided at the very last minute to do an overnight trip to Jerusalem while vacationing in Tel Aviv and found this place through a hotel aggregator. Neither of us had done hostels before so we were a tad wary, but were both very pleased with our stay. We had a private room with two very thin twin beds -- not great for a couple, but they were fine for one night.

What really sells this place is the sense of community and the knowledgeable staff. There were so many events going on and group outings. We arrived on Shabbat, so nearly everything in the city was closed but we were hungry. The staff knew of all of the great spots that were still open but scattered throughout the city. They directed us to a fantastic restaurant that we never would've found on our own.

This is the place to stay in Jerusalem. Everything I want in a hostel, clean comfortable, friendly, great tours. Best of all fantastic atmosphere, and cheap. If I go back to Israel, thats where I'll stay.

Clean room, safe, family friendly, wonderful staff, excellent atmosphere, excellent advice on tourism around Israel, good breakfast, central to attractions in Jerusalem, cheap!

The Hebron tour is excellent and recommended; the cost is under 300 Shekkel (approx £50) for a full day trip.
