“can't wait to go back”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2012

Staying at the Abraham Hostel really added positively to my visit of Jerusalem.
I stayed in a single room which was simple but clean and comfortable.
I participated in the Friday evening Shabbat dinner which was fun and delicious!
The staff is friendly and helpful.
The common areas are nicely decorated and comfortable and the hostel in general has a great vibe to it.
I also participated in a tour organized by the travel agency in the hostel to Masada, Ein Gedi and the Dead Sea. The tour went smoothly and was very enjoyable.
All in all a great experience.

My fiancé and I spent two nights at the Abraham hostel. I have stayed in quite a few hostels in Europe and will quite readily say that Abraham hostel has the best atmosphere and experience of any! The staff is all very friendly and helpful, particularly in helping you find 'hidden gems' in nightlife and dining. The other travelers are very friendly and the social gathering area is a great place to meet people during happy hour. Although we were traveling together and had our own agenda, it was quite apparent that if we had wanted to join in on group activities they would have been great. The first night we were there, a group of travelers were cooking in the kitchen and it smelled amazing. There are also some reading hammocks in the social area that are like little nests...so comfy!

With regard to the actual accommodations, the beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked. We also were able to open the window in our room which was a great way to control the temperature. The shower/bathroom was probably the only downside, as it drained very very slowly, overflowed through the bathroom, and also took significantly longer than the 20 minutes indicated by the staff to heat up. I would also like to point out that the lot behind the hostel where you are supposed to park a car has raised it's prices, though the hostel staff still quoted the lower price.

Overall this is a great place to stay in an amazingly central location. If you are in your 20s and 30s particularly, you should stay hereandexperience Jerusalem with other like-minded travelers!

This hostel provided everything I wanted: helpful staff, clean premises, good breakfast (important for cyclists as it is hilly country), secure cycle storage, good price, easy to find from city centre by following tram line. It is on a modern car-free shopping street, good for cycling and cafes, and old city an easy walk, cycle or tram ride away.

Abraham Hostel has everything a backpacker needs, very well organized, good location, walking distance to the old city and bus station and the tram line is right in front of the hostel.
The best breakfast I ever tasted in a hostel.
Some complain about having to wash the dishes and cups used, but what´s the problem in doing so? A simple duty for a real backpacker.
If you are going to Jerusalem that´s the place to stay.

We wish to extend Abraham's Biblical hospitality to our time. We, the staff & owners of Abraham Hostels, created our dream hostel in Jerusalem to support travelers in the Middle East.
