“Great first-night place to eat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2012

Lavan's was recommended to us, otherwise we would never have found it. You have to go inside the Cinematheque and downstairs. But if you eat on the patio, you have a marvelous view of the Old City across the valley. When it's lit up at night, it's really incomparable. Everything we ordered was superb, and service was terrific.

“Very good meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2012

Lavan is in the Cinematique very near the Mount Zion Hotel. We ate here our 1st night in Jerusalem. I suggest you make reservations - we had a hard time getting a table. We ate outside with a view of the Old City on a beautiful evening. Our small group enjoyed their wine, beer & cocktails. We shared an eggplant appetizer which was good. We all enjoyed our dinner choices - lamb kebabs, chicken schnitzel. Service was better than most in Israel.

“Very good food, lovely view, near Mt. Zion hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2012

Our only regret was that we didn't try this restaurant earlier in our stay at Mount Zion. You won't see the sign for Lavan, but it's in the Cinematek, which is easy to spot.

This restaurant is low-key and casual, with delicious food. A relaxing evening after running around Jerusalem.
