Focus on the decor, the history and the music and definately don't order the white wine, go for the red. Service was fine and the prices ok. I guarantee you will not eat in an older or more charming restaurant

We were drawn to this place since it looked warm and inviting and it was a rare snowy day in Jerusalem. We wandered down the stairs to an amazing arched room which was the setting for a monestary 1000 years ago. We had the mixed grill with chicken. Plenty of food for two at lunch. The Israeli merlot was tasty as well. Highly recommended. (we later discovered that this place is famous, but at the moment it was our private find!)

We dined at the Armenan Tavern several times during our stay in Jerusalem. The food was excellent, the best of the Armenian cuisine! The staff were friendly and service-minded, despite having many guests. The environment was charming with Armenian pieces of furniture ant artifacts on the wall.

Not what we thought - we were hoping for an oasis from the heat of the Old City and a few cold beers with small plates of food. The word Tavern had a different meaning than we imagined. We were a party of four and were greated poorly and told that they did not offer cocktails. The space is rustic and beautiful but we did not feel very welcome.
