Through work, I took a small group of partners from overseas (mostly Europe) that came to visit us to The Eucalyptus. Everyone enjoyed the delicious food and wine! The salads and soups were divine.
The service wasn't that great. I had to ask them a number of times to clear empty plates and serving dishes. In addition, they made a small mistake in the order.
Overall it was a great experience and the chef Moshe Basson is such a delight and made the evening that much nicer!

We arrived close to their opening after sabbat. The service was incredibly bad but the food was very good. So if you like bad service but good food, this is the place for you. Just expect to hang around a couple of hours.

went with my wife last week to celebrate our anniversary, the meal was great, we ordered the pastilia with duck and beef tartar with mint oil for both were excellent, we also got so me really unique spreds and fresh (still warm) bread complementary with two glasses of Israeli sparkling wine(I guess it is good to mention that your celebrating a special occasion) for main courses we took the oven baked lamb (heavnly) and the sinniya not as good as the lamb but the pita at the bottom was a really nice touch accompanied by KATLAV Nes Harim bottle of red wine that was recommended by our very attentive waiter(200 nis, gave very good value for money)

to sum up, it was a night to remember the service was great so was the food a little pricy but worth it.

we will be back

in search of a culinary adventure -a subscriber to the slow food movement - and top chefs from Israel on the international gourmet radar - we landed at EUCALYPTUS across from the jaffa gate in the old city in the artist colony. The menu was so good looking we had a hard time deciding. 2 fig martinis to start were excellent. The pastilla w duck confit was off the charts and the stuffed figs w chicken was highly recommended-and excellent! We couldn't decide on a main-everything looks so good. Luckily the chef was at the next table and we checked with him to verify that the lamb wasn't too gamely. It was sublime! Perfectly seasoned and cooked all day in a clay pot-the flavor is to be remembered till I go back again.
Bravo to chef Moshe Basson and his son Ronni! This resto is a must!!

So we came a long way just to find this restaurant to be very disappointing. And terrible, in general.

We were promised (by trip advisor- mind you) a great meal with a great view n found neither.

A damn shame. Literally.
