The hotel is situated in the muslim area in new Jerusalem, and I belive it was a christian hotel. The staff was a mix of christian and muslim palestinians. They were all very helpfull and nice - the two receptionists were especially forthcoming and nice. Thank you to Alexander and the lovely female receptionist! We stayed at a room with three beds, it was very spacious and offered a nice view. The bathroom was very clean and nice. And I can't complain about breakfast either - very nice (nice seems to be the word today :)) The location is perfect, one tram stop away from the jewish area. It's also very close to old Jerusalem and Damascus Gate. We had an amazing time in Jerusalem, muslims, christians and jews - they were all so amazing and helpfull. We were there during Ramadan and that was quite the experience, the only downside was that we didn't get to see The Al Aqsa Mosque.

I stayed in the hotel from 12/12/12 - 12/24/12. The room (including bathroom) was very clean, the staff quite friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the Arab District with its surrounding business establishments - my eye glasses broke twice (due to light weight construction, which I like, though they were cheaply made - new set now) and yet a local eye Doctor was more than helpful in repairing at a very reasonable price - his business is just down the street from a fine two story book store with excellent homemade soups, fine coffee, and little chocolate candy on the side. This was an excellent cultural experience, with the Old City being within walking distance. This area does not have the opulence of the Jewish District (and I am very pro Judaism), and yet I felt quite at home amongst the people. So as I review hotels for my next trip in the Fall season, I am very hard pressed to not give them a call to arrange another stay. Oh yes, breakfast was very satisfying (a part of my package), and I had one dinner that was excellent. Good people, and good hotel!

Jerusalem was the first city we visited in Israel and Ritz the first hotel. In the beginning i don't know why but i had a bad feeling about this place but soon everything changed. the room was very clean. iwas afraid that it wiil be noisy because the room was close to the street but NO it was quiet!and we really enjoy quiet!anyhow they welcomed us with fruit, the room was very clean and nice and you can enjoy movies in some channels.(most of the times hollywood movies with arabic subtitles).
Breakfast was a big plus since there is a huge buffet with big variety.much better than i expected. I will never forget Yasser keeping all the time our cups of coffee full, all the time with a smile sometimes sharing jokes and even trying to bring us something extra from the kitchen. But all the people there were very helpful and even in this relatively big hotel they make us feel like family.
The area where the hotel is, is conservative so if you are a woman or couples try not to wear very provocative clothes or put something more on until you arrive to the more touristic areas. It is NOT a dangerous area, just some advice if you dont want to draw more attencion.

The staff was really helpful, the breakfast was very
good. The room was clean. They had a very nice covered patio on the roof. It was about a 10 minute walk through the Arab quarter to get to the Old City.

Clean but I don't like moquette on the floor in hotel rooms. The room was comfortable but the bathroom was tiny (you couldn't even get through the door properly). The internet was too slow for skype video and connection was often falling.
The breakfast was fairly good, the staff was very nice as in all hotels in the Arab Jerusalem

If you are looking good basic hotel, friendly staff, small size rooms with balconies, nice breakfast. Excellent location for walking to visit the old city, bus, shuttle and metro tram, try to avoid taxis as they are expensive and not necessary

Located very close to Herod’s Gate, the hotel is just short walk to Old City and western Wall; a 20 minute wall to new city.

Rooms are quite small – but adequate. Some rooms have balconies – and this is a real plus. The beds are comfortable and the rooms very clean. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly.

Food is average – breakfast selections were good, evening choices are limited and a bit repetitive. There is a nice bar area which is good for relaxing and meeting up with friends.

There are no tea / coffee making facilities and this would be a welcome addition to the rooms.
