We stayed here as part of a group visiting the Holy Land. It was a gem of a hotel, very clean and with friendly attentive staff. They did not have as many tour groups crowding the place like other hotels we had been to and so it was a relief to dine at leisure in their elegant dining room. The food was excellent, even gourmet and we had a wonderful time there for 5 nights. It is 10-12 minutes walking distance to the Damascus Gate and then deeper to the holy sites. And though the route is rather dirty and smelly, you feel safe. I even walked to the sites alone one evening and did not feel unsafe for a moment. The room was very comfortable and clean and we had a very pleasant stay at the Ritz Hotel. The staff made us feel very welcome and cared for.
