Hands down - the best place to stay - for location / style / crowd / amenities / facilities and staff.
We loved our visit - and after walking through a few other hotels in the area such as the David Citadel and the King David - we knew we had chosen the best hotel...

Highlights -

The breakfast each morning! Amazing! Make sure you give yourself enough time to enjoy it before rushing out to catch a tour!

Drinks at the rooftop restaurant overlooking the old city which is beautifully lit up at night...

Hanging out with the "In" crowd at the bar which was always filled with cool people! (made us feel cool too! )

The glass enclosed bathroom - that turns from see-through to non-see through with a click of a button!

Dear harryandisabell,

It is an honor to receive such a review from our guests. It is also an honor to be chosen by you over the David Citadel and the King David – both very respectable hotels in Jerusalem.

Thank you for pointing out the highlights of your stay. It is wise to take one's time during breakfast since so much is offered. All of our guests who have seen the view from the Rooftop restaurant take with them a memorable snapshot of this historic city. From what I've heard, a few Israeli celebrities were seen at the Mirror Bar this week.

Thank you once again for taking the time to write about your stay. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

The hotel is situated across from the old city. To get there, you walk through an enchanting commercial promenade that takes you into the old city where you can wander for hours in the footsteps of each of the major religions - a rare treat!
The architecture is most unique. The interior walls are of Jerusalem stone that provides an atmosphere of inside/outside. It's minimalistic decor envelopes one with a feeling of wanting to explore every area.
The rooms are a decent size, and the bathrooms are equipped with sensitive glass walls that turn opaque when the light is turned on.
It's a beautiful experience.

Stayed 3 nights at the Mamilla and was very inpressed! Staff was absoluetely wonderful and extremely attentive! Escorted you to your room and made sure everything was to your liking. Rooms were great! Very, very clean! The bathrooms were quite spacious and the liquid crystal walls were so unique! Did not have any problem with them. Breakfast was absolutely amazing - made to order eggs, a wide assortment of fresh fruits, vegetables, salads, a great selection of cheeses and of course, wonderful breads and pasteries!! Location could not be better! Easy walk to the Old City, plus plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. Concierge was a great help with restaurant recommendations and making reservations for us. - I am extremely (to put it mildly)picky about cleanliness and quality - my family and I were very pleased with Mamilla! I would absolutely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone going to Jerusalem.

My partner and I stayed 1 night here in March.
We booked a studio (the entry level room) and paid about $450 for 1 night. A bit expensive but continental breakfast was included.
The room was nice, although not very big, bed comfortable - nice bathroom and shower. Mini bar expensive at 21 shekels for a can of coke. They gave a complimentary bottle of Evian water which was a nice touch.
Disappointing that both the sky deck was closed and there was a private function on the roof terrace - unable to see the sights! Also, had to travel down to ground floor from the 5th floor and go outside to smoke.
Staff very attentive without being in your face or pretentious - receptionist was very professional and friendly and the guys serving breakfast were also extremely attentive. It's indeed rare to find unpretentious staff in a top end hotel so well done Mamilla. Nice touch when staff came round with glasses of juice when you checked-in.
I liked the decor inside the hotel - had a very calming effect.
Did ask for a room overlooking the Old City but had one overlooking a side street.
Enjoyed our stay but don't think we would return and pay that price again.
Have marked overall as average. If I had to rate the staff alone, I would rate them as excellent.
Didn't get a chance to experience the spa or pool.

Room Tip: Our room on the 5th floor was quiet but there wasn't much of a view.

Dear D J R,

Thank you for taking the time to write about your stay.

It is wonderful to hear that our staff provided service that you considered excellent.

We appreciate your comments because your feedback helps us improve our product. I apologize that you were not able to enjoy the view from our Rooftop restaurant. It is available for private functions and therefore may become unavailable to guests when there is a private event. However, we also have sundeck which provides an equally impressive view of Jerusalem when the weather permits.

We hope that you will reconsider and that we will be able to welcome you back to Mamilla hotel in the future.

As a private tour guide in Israel, I rarely stay in the hotels my clients do. However, I stayed in the highly-touted Mamilla Hotel yesterday.
I was not a happy puppy.
True the location is great. On the wonderful Mamilla Mall, minutes from the Old City, Jaffa Street and other tourist spots, but location does not a great hotel make.
The rooms are tight, beds too low to the ground, and the bathrooms...

Why should the bathroom illuminate the whole room? My wife wanted to wake up early and bathe, but turning on the bathroom light illuminates the whole hotel room.
Breakfast is minimal, too. They should take lessons from the King David or David Continental.
In short, for the price they charge I would choose the other great alternatives in this fantastic city.

Location, location, location!
You have it all here... comfortable, well appoint rooms, service, restaurants, shopping to your hearts content and walking distance to the historical sites. If you have a night free book a meal on the roof top. The view service and food was excellent.

Room Tip: We had 7 rooms and there was not a bad room in our group.

Great location with incredible rooftop views! Was it worth the price, I am not sure since it was my first time in Jerusalem. What I will say is the service was certainly not up to standard. But I experienced this a lot in Israel as a whole. The most bothersome thing was at the rooftop restaurant the staff were obsessed with texting on their cell phones and having to wait forever to be served and certainly not as friendly as they should be for the prices.
