We enjoyed a beautiful weekend at the Mammila hotel!
There is a great touch in every detail. The entrance is really impressive and the rooms are so nice.
Although this is not the reason to visit Jerusalem, I guess that locating a pool on the roof instead of the indoor pool could be nice,
I'll definitely visit the hotel again, hopefully soon :)

I rate Mamilla the best hotel in Jerusalem even comparing with pretencious King David where I stayed at arrival.
Very contemporarely designed! Welcoming and really helpful staff, good location, fantastic view from Roof Top restaurant, elegant Wine Bar with excelent wine selection!
Free and fast wi-fi internet everywhere!
That's a real XXI century accomodation!

We've spent a weekend at the Mamila hotel about a month ago and it was very special! The place is designed very carefully and there is a good vibe around it. Really close to the old city.
The only false side was no free WiFi, they take charge for this...

this hotel is probably the best in jerusalem but it is very pricey for what it offers. unfortunately we arrived on a friday and all the bars and restaurants of the hotel started closing at 4.00pm. the spaces are wonderfull but they lack any sign of local character. even though this architecture is wonderful it makes you lose your bearings somehow because you do not know if you are in the bulgari hotel in milano or a classy spa in asia. the rooms were wonderful and well equipped. the receptionists even though helpful had a cocky air, unlike all the other people in the hospitality business in israel. i guess jerusalem is a very touristy place and the quality of the service goes according to that fact.
the location of the hotel is excellent very close to two of the gates of the old city and an easy taxi ride to most of the other sites

Room Tip: there are some rooms that enjoy an excellent view of the old city but you should ask for them

Dear Fumihiko,
Thank you for taking the time to write about your stay.
Since Mamilla hotel is a kosher hotel, there are limitations with regards to the restaurants that remain operational. The Mamilla Rooftop remains open with a cold menu on Fridays until 22:00 and is open on the Sabbath between 12:00 until an hour and a half after the end of Sabbath offering a cold menu. It then remains open with its regular menu until 23:00. There are occasions when the restaurant closes due to private events.
With regards to your comment that our reception staff exuded an air of cockiness, your comment has been forwarded to the reception manager. Our aim is to be approachable and helpful and not at all cocky.
We are pleased to read that you enjoyed the location and we consider it a compliment to be compared to Bulgari hotel in Milano or a classy spa in Asia.
Thank you once again and we hope to be able to welcome you back in the future.

Very well situated at the top of the Mamilla shopping center with its lovely shops great views and selected pieces of art featured on each side of the mall.

Our flight was delayed and we arrived (a group of 24) at 3 o'clock in the morning and we were quite incapable of understanding the pages of instructions we were given. The glass bathrooms are nuts nothing beautiful in looking straight through to the toilet and every time the room was made up they turned the switch from opaque back to clear every time. The bath had taps situated high on the wall rendering it impossible to add hot water if you wanted an extended soak. The toiletries were lovely but could have done with more than one square inch of soap for the bath as well as the sink.

Not enough wardrobe space for two of us barely enough for one person, no coffee making facilities and no dressing table. The lighting was terrible very dark with rows of switches that were impossible to figure out.

Extremely difficult to find your way around the hotel and although the breakfast was good and there was a lot of choice the Mamilla cafe which had free w-fii was terrible and the service appalling. Worst of all was the rooftop restaurant which we used on a Saturday lunch time it had only four items on the menu and they were very expensive. The manager was rude and aggressive when I refused to sign for what we had eaten (kosher hotel on Shabbat) and he insisted I accompanied him to reception where I finally told them what I thought of them. I did receive a letter of apology but nothing more.

I would not stay there again in spite of the great location it is very expensive the service varies greatly, the housekeeping staff intrusive. You need to be suffering from Anorexia to eat in Mamilla Cafe the service is so bad.

Room Tip: We were on the fourth floor not a particularly good view.

Dear Janet C,
Thank you for taking the time to write about your stay.
With regards to the instructions, it is important for us to provide information on how to use the controls and outlets in the room. We will have a look at it again to see how we can improve it further.
I apologize that we were not able to provide the level of service that you expected at Mamilla Café and the Mamilla Rooftop. This is being addressed and your comments have been forwarded to the appropriate people. Those who observe the Sabbath usually arrange for the meals ahead of time since they could not sign for their receipts during the Sabbath.
We hope you will reconsider staying at Mamilla hotel in the future.

This lovely location, in the renewed Mamilla location blends the old world Jerusalem stone with a modern, airy top notch hotel. The designers and staff have tried so hard that they have tried almost too hard. It is true that upon arrival, the 10 minute prep briefing on how to first use the elevator buttons (very counterintuitive) and how to render the bathroom glass privacy-opaque was a bit much. The number of light switches in the rooms was laughable, but became a bit annoying when trying to figure out what switched on what. And yes, the lighting was dim. The service was over the top--from housekeeping requests fulfilled within minutes to he twice daily room spiffing up ( actually opted out from housekeeping one day just so our things were left intact!) Housekeeping actually inquired if we had meant to do that and seemed very concerned ! In an effort to sine, the hotel has almost out-techn'ed itself. One example besides the light switch dilemna-- was told that mailing a postcard from thefront desk would take two weeks, due to accounting procedures and a once a week only outgoing mail policy. For a postcard, really? The hotel amenities are lovely-- verycomfortable beds, large rainhead shower and beautiful soaking tub. The breakfast is over the top with a decadent assortment that had something for everyone, and more. The fresh squeezed juices ( mixed carrot and orange made us feel super energized and super healthy!). The buttery croissants on each table , along with jams, honey and butter were mire indulgences. The coffee service at breakfast was by serving staff only, and it took awhile to get that initial caffeine jolt and refills that we craved. The outdoor alternative for breakfast dining was perfect, calming and restorative. Considered the hotel pretty close to perfectlocation-wise: just outside the Old CityJaffa gate, through a new mall that melded ancient and modern, mere blocks to a multitude of sidewalk restaurant and shopping choices. Only a couple of suggestions: KIS ( just one S!) Lose some of the light switches, put in some of those old fashioned bedside reading lamps and a make up lighted mirror, give housekeeping a break, put in a self help coffee machine at breakfast, and just take the customers money, put a stamp on a postcard and drop it in the mail. This hotel has got it all, just needs to pare it back and stick to some tried and true basics.
