There were only 3 good things about the hotel: Marcel, the manager of the dining room & the breakfast, everything else left too much to be desired. I think the only ones who may like it here are the orthodox Jews who come with families. There were many families who were catered to since the hotel even has a place of worship that separates the men & women. On Shabbat, everything in the hotel shuts down, ie, the pool, the lobby, the restaurant in the lobby & they even put up a barrier for the front desk so you don't see the staff using phones or computers. There is even a different room for breakfast on Shabbat where you will not encounter the orthodox, since they are catered to & have the main eating area to themselves.
I did not mind the location, although it is a bit far from the center, the light train line is close by & easy enough to use, although it does not run on Saturdays, so make sure you plan for that.
The acoustics in the hallway are horrible & everyone seemed to slam their doors at about 12 at night, which caused for interrupted sleep & if you like washcloths, bring your own since they are not supplied.
If you like to take food from the meals, then you will feel right at home (I personally was appalled), but not only were people wasteful at breakfast, they loaded up there handbags, Tupperware, napkins & anything they could find with enough food for the rest of the day! Truly amazing!
I almost forgot. You have to pay for the Internet everywhere ( they don't have wifi anywhere in the hotel) unless you pay dearly.

Having been to Israel several times in the past, I've learned to accept the "Sabra" attitude of Israeli people (tough outside, but sweet inside). The staff at the Ramada refuted this characterization. They were apathetic, both on the outside as well as the inside!

My room was satisfactory, but I would never stay at the Ramada again. The staff seemed like they were just going through the motions, with no affect.

Great hotel! The service is fine. The location is not in the tourist area. Free parking is available.
There is also shuttle to the old city of Jerusalem. good entertainment for the children, and relaxing for the adults. We got the upper floor and we got the view of the old city.

Am I crazy or is it everyone else. I truly hated this hotel. I hated the location, the trek to to Light Rail or expense to go anywhere except the Israel Museum. I hated the front desk staff who never smiled or acknowledged us in the a.m. or p.m. even though we were there for a week; and I really hated the man sitting outside the front lobby who saw my child go through the revolving door with a suitcase in hand, got stuck, looked at him and never tried to help him get out.
Room was okay as long as you don't mind they the hotel decides how cool you should be since the air is controlled by them! Breakfast was also fine- as long as 100 orthodox xhildren screaming and running around the dining room is your idea of a nice vacation. Pool goprgeous- but i don't go to Israel to sit by the pool. Nice for locals who may want to take a dip.
Maybe it's me but I have stayed in far lesser hitels and enjoyed myself much much more. Would not return-

This is an average 3 star masquerading as a 4 star. Fittings are of poor quality and our room had wonky taps and exposed wires. It has take your money and forget about you conveyor belt attitude. We stayed with our baby and requested a crib and a room away from the lifts weeks in advance. Amazingly there was no crib the first night and our room was practically inside the elevator ! When we complained the hotel management were rude and aggressive matching the generally unhelpful manner (even by israeli standards) of the staff. The pools are quite nice although the outdoor one is small and all the loungers were broken so you cant prop them up properly ( 4 star ! No way). The lobbies are spacious although fitted out in some wierd 1970s disco style. Food was very average and the breakfast poor by Israeli standards .Overall truly awful value for money even by the low standards in Jerusalem. A pity the holy city has such poor hotels to offer. Spend your money elsewhere than the Ramada.

Spacious and roomy - there are renovations going on so don't be surprised.. however the renovated rooms are lovely, the place is friendly and the service great... the children really enjoy the pool area and adults can actually have a rest .. close to many sites and the new light-rail

Room Tip: Ask for the renovated room
