“Good Potential Wasted. Pick another hotel!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2013

The hotel is well located and has the potential to be a real good hotel for Jerusalem visitors. But, the service, the maintenance and the conditions are poor and we will never come back to this place. here's why:
1. the staff became hostile as soon as they found out we were Israelis, and refuse to speak Hebrew although they understood it very well.
2. The room was small and crowded. A/C was very noisy and had to be turned off to be able to sleep. the mattress was very very soft.
3. The TV set was very tiny, and did not work.
4. The promised "indoors pool" is a part of a local sports club, and we were not able to be there together, because of gender restriction, either women alone or men alone. Some vacation...
5. Breakfast was poor quality and allowed to cool. OK if you like cols scrambled eggs.
6. No indication to where the free parking lot is located. and no free parking outside the hotel so that you can go to the reception to find out. So, spend 20 NIS and 20 minutes just to be told to drive around the block to the hotel parking. in a hot Jerusalem day.
7. The cashier actually tried to round up the bill from 680 NIS to 700 for no reason. No apolgy was offered when we commented on that.
in short: do not stay at the Legacy hotel!

Room Tip: face the east side

Recently completed a 4 night stay at the Legacy. The hotel is very convenient to the old city and the light rail system. The rooms are a little small but very adequate for 1 person. The bed was a little soft (I'm used to a temperpedic which is a little firmer) but a very good bed. The shower worked well and had plenty of hot water. The breakfast buffet located on the 5th floor was very good.

For what I needed, this was an excellent place to stay.

This Hotel is a 10 minute stroll from the Damascus Gate. Also one is close to the facilities of east Jerusalem & the Israeli city center.
The rooms are well kept & the Breakfast Buffet is very good. The staff are friendly and willing.
The only downside is accessing the hotel with a car. Be forwarned - the carpark is accessed from the main road, next to the tire garage (Puncture Macher). One then goes through a gate at the back, crosses the road, rings the bell and finally enters the hotel from the back!

This place is a charm for holidays brilliantly situated near Damascus gate and absolutely brilliant views of the old city
The balcony was a bonus, after a days sight seeing, you could relax with a drink and take in the views, just so relaxing, fabulous
Breakfast was just so tasty and nourishing
I had a great discussion with Samer on the front desk about the politics of the region
If you're looking for a comfortable relaxed stay in Jerusalem, look no further

Room Tip: If you've got kids, ask for adjoining rooms

we have selected Legacy Hotel following very good opinions expressed on tripadvisor site and we were not been disappointed. The place is of a very good quality from all points of view : a very nice and helpful service at the reception , clean room with sufficient space, excellent breakfast buffet mixing oriental and continental choices, a very good and reasonably priced restaurant with helpful and friendly service and fantastic view on the old city. Needless to say the place is very well located (5 minutes from Damascus Gate), be aware however if you want to leave the hotel by taxi on Friday noon it may be a problem as all streets (including Nablus road) in the vicinity of the Damascus Gate are blocked for car traffic due to mass Muslim pedestrian fluxes. We were saved again by the kindness of the lobby employee who arranged for a taxi 5 minutes walk from the hotel. We have stayed 3 nights and we will certainly come back there on an occasion of "the next year in Jerusalem" !

Room Tip: we were offered a choice between a room from a court side with a small balcony and more spacious roo...

I had never stayed in the hotel, but i tried the restaurant in the upper floor. Really delicious food specially the Salmon. The view is nice from the restaurant. The Hotel location is really in the heart of the city.

I stayed for 3 days on Legacy Hotel. I chose this hotel because of the reviews and Location. And in this aspects I was not disappointed. It is perfectly located to the Old city. Rooms are on the medium size but have tea-coffee facilities and a small fridge. The complimentary fruit basket and water was a really nice touch.Very comfortable and a great Breakfast Buffet.
The staff is very helpful and Friendly
But also I was decided by the fact that they offer gym and swimming pool facilities and this was a bit on the dissapointment side. The Gym and Swimming-pool (17m) belong to the YMCA and premises are shared with the Hotel. The hours and services are operated by the YMCA so do not expect "hotel standards". Hours are very restricted and the use of the swimming pooI is differenciated and separated by sex: male/female at different times. Also the hours are quite extreme (ie: 6:30-7:45 am or then 18-21h for men). I had some issues regarding this but it was dealt effectively by the manager Samer.
