“Best location”
Reviewed May 25, 2014 via mobile

We have just spent 11 nights at the Harmony Hotel in Jerusalem and could not have had a better location, in the heart of the city, an easy walk to the Old City but tucked away in a quiet corner. We really enjoyed the Happy Hour. It was great to return to the hotel after a day's sightseeing knowing that we would be able to relax on the terrace with a glass of wine and some tasty snacks. Breakfasts may not be as extensive as some of the big hotels but there is ample choice and more than enough to have several courses! Hagop on reception was particularly helpful but other staff members could be more friendly. The desk was always busy and staffing levels are probably slightly lower than required as whoever was on duty had to answer phone calls and deal with many queries from guests. The bathroom could have done with a proper clean with a bottle of bleach. As most people remark, the rooms are small but the lounge and terrace are good compensation. We would be happy to return.

I recently had some guests stay at the hotel and they had nothing but compliments. The rooms where very pleasant, the hotel staff extremely nice and polite and all in a great location. Will definitely recommend my guest to stay at this hotel.

Solo trip. Stayed here four four nights. Chosen because of trip advisor ratings. Arrived late in the evening by taxi. The driver dropped me nearby. He didn't actually know where the hotel was. Before I came to Jerusalem, I did the google street view familiarisation so I knew where I was.The hotel is approached through a small shopping mall which is empty, being done up. You press a call bell which alerts reception and the electric doors are opened for you. There is a lift or stairs to the first floor where the reception is. Check in was smooth. My room, a double, next floor up, was big enough, light enough and quite comfortable. Bathroom good and clean. Breakfast was ok. Happy hour which us basically snacks with drinks was ok too but you need to eat a meal as well.
The location is very good. Turn left out of the hotel and 100 metres is Zion Square on Jaffa Road. Loads going on. Turn right and walk down Jaffa road to cross a busy road junction and then follow the old city walls either right to Jaffa Gate or Left to New gate and further on Damascus Gate. It took me about ten minutes to walk from the hotel to the Jaffa Gate but I'm a fastish walker.
Jerusalem blew me away. I had been apprehensive before hand but was far happier than when in Marrakesh or Istanbul. Self guided for four days. I witnessed loads of tour groups and was glad I wasn't part of that.
In summary, I liked the Harmony Hotel. I spent most of each day in the Old City but when I got back to the Hotel it felt good and was comfortable. Would stay there again.

Hotel is excellent although the rooms are a little small. The hotel is within walking distance of great restaurants & shops. Hotel staff are extremely friendly, helpful & informative. Tram is close by. Thoroughly enjoyed happy hour especially after a long day of touring. Had an outstanding English speaking tour guide, Gary Littwin (gary.littwin@gmail.com)

My husband and I stayed here for four nights at the beginning of March. We really enjoyed our stay. We rented a car and this Boutique Hotel had free parking! We emailed the hotel a day ahead because my husband uses a CPAP machine to sleep and he needed distilled water. When we arrived at the hotel, the front desk had it ready for us. The gentleman at the front desk had to go to a drug store to find it. The staff was always accommodating. The staff at the front desk always gave great directions and suggestions on places to go and eat. It was really close to everything. Restaurants and shops right out the front door. We were only 10 minutes from the Old City. The snacks and wine on the outside terrace was a great treat at the end of a long day of sightseeing. The room was small and the walls were thin but it was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Our first night it was a little noisy outside in the middle of the night but we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again Breakfast wasn't as elaborate as the larger hotels but was adequate. We would love to go back some day.

Harmony hotel is located within a short walk to all sites within the old city, Many restaurants right at the doorstep. Rooms are clean and quite small but ok for there purpose, nightly drinks and snacks free of charge in there lounge are a good idea after a long day exploring or before going out for dinner. Breakfast choices are limited. Free Wi Fi

Stayed there three nights purely based on the TA reviews and ratings. True that the location is remarkable and near everything. True that there are many meal choices, shopping choices, late night choices and even small convenience markets nearby also. This made our stay all very nice. And convenient of course. So kudos on the location.

The breakfast was weak compared to two other hotels. Dan Panorama, and the Renaissance in Tel Aviv. Not as diverse, not as plentiful, and not as tasty. To be rated the way this property is, breakfast needs shine also, it did not in comparison.

The 6pm snack offered was some carrots and celery, a few sweets and some wine and beer, again, a weak effort to really compete for guests. Not that hard to do far better.

The room was small, ok, nice full shower too. The internet was slow and spotty many times, plus the first morning, our neighbors had been smoking in their room which made that morning rather unpleasant. The AC in the room works with three speeds but there is no temperature control in the three speeds this was challenging to find that right balance. Not hard to correct with a thermostat that worked correctly.

Service wise the front desk staffers were sometimes good sometimes not so good. The morning guy who is the front desk manager is way too impressed with himself. Turn that down a notch and turn up that ever elusive customer serviced piece and he would be a happy addition to the harmony scene instead of a guy we wanted to avoid because he is so unpleasant. Dude, a smile and kind word goes a long way.

I would stay there again, mostly for the location and because Zuni is across the street and because the place has about 60 rooms versus several hundred. I just dont get though how this property is so highly rated on this site.
