Owner description: Rediscover Biblical Jerusalem. The story of the City of David began over 3,000 years ago,Today, the story of the City of David continues. Deep underground, the City of David is revealing some of the most exciting archeological finds of the ancient world. While above ground, the city is a vibrant center of activity with a visitor's center that welcomes visitors for an exciting tour to the site where much of the Bible was written.

Booked our tour through TripAdvisor and it was quite an experience. Our tour guide Avi was very informative and thorough. It's a must experience when in Jerusalem, especially going through the Hezekiah tunnel was totally amazing!

We went to the City of David twice...once in the day and once at night. When we went during the day time, we saw the video of the city of david (3D movie worth seeing especially since it was hot outside and the room had Air conditioning ! :) After seeing the city (which is really quite small), we went into Hezekiah's tunnel (see other review of this--this was a fun tunnel to go into). The City of David has a gift shop and a store to buy drinks and icecream which was important given that we went in September (it was hot)

At night time, we went to see the light show in the City of David. The light show was very nice...it was like watching a movie on the city of david building structure. It was something worthwhile to see especially since it was much cooler at night time.

From ancient time Jerusalem had walls for protection from enemies. The Walls are still appearing reminisce of the past glory having 24 miles length built up of big stones which has eight gates the main gate being Golden Gate now closed and believed to be opened with Lord's second arrival.Saul's repentance took place at Damascus Gate. Herod Gate was in the name of King Herod. It was believed King of Turkey Suleiman made Lions's Gate fearing Lion's attack for own safety..Jaffa Gate, New Gate,Zion Gate and Deeng Gate were the other gates.

The City of David National Park is a really inexpensive, fun activity to do in Jerusalem. It's located just a short walk outside of Western Wall, and takes about an hour and a half to see everything. Make sure to bring shorts (or a skirt you can pull up), and a large bag that you can fit everything in and will stay high above your waist (like a backpack). The water can sometimes get pretty high, but it's definitely worth going through the water tunnel! The tickets were also really inexpensive, which was nice for us because we were on a pretty tight budget. It was definitely worth the money.

On approaching the city of David you can only be impressed with its walls, towers and its reach history. The entrance fee was 70 sheckle each and it was well worth a visit.
