“Little gem in Rechavia”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

The Little House in Rechavia is a great place to stay if you want lodging that is within walking distance to most all of Jerusalem's sights and attractions, or a short cab ride when you get tired of walking. The guest room is rather spartan and small but the staff was very nice and helpful the entire week we stayed there, a daily Israel-style breakfast was included in the price of the room and the location was prime.
The only things that need improvement are the bath towels, which are old and threadbare, and the cleanliness of the room and facility could be improved somewhat, but it wasn't terrible.

An odour of cleaning products greets you as you enter the dingey lobby of The Little House in Rechavia. We chose this hotel because it met the criteria we wanted for our week's stay in Jerusalem; clean, quiet and centrally located in a lovely neighbourhood. That it was. This hotel has so much potential to be charming, but it is badly in need of a face lift. Even a paint job would spruce up the dark rooms and grungey hallways. Hooks on the bathroom door would be helpful. The lobby desk is very high so that you can hardly see if anyone is behind it. We often encountered a sign saying 'back in a few minutes', which was frustrating when we were waiting to get our room key. The staff is pleasant and helpful enough, but not very warm and welcoming. The hotel has the feel of a backpackers hostel. Breakfast, which is included, is adequate and can be taken outside on the patio, where stray cats abound. The three of us had a quad room on the second floor, which consisted of a dark windowless main room (rather depressing) and a small ante-room off of that, with no door. At least this little room had a window. Next to that was the bathroom, woefully lacking in any counter space to put things down. Although there was a small cabinet under the pedestal sink, it would be helpful if the hotel could add a wall shelf where one could easily access one's cosmetic bag and other items. The towel rack was too small to hold three towels and the towels, which were laid out horizontally, kept falling down. There was not a box of kleenex nor a piece of paper or pencil in sight. (although there was a desk). WIFI was spotty and never worked in the room when we needed it. For the prices charged, I would have thought the hotel would be better maintained. A renovation is definitely in order.

Room Tip: Be prepared for a 'no frills' experience. A room at the back would be quieter.

We took a long weekend in Jerusalem, and found the hotel has everything a religus Jew can want: hot plate, hot water heater in the lobby & a refrigerator in the room.
also we got everything we asked for with a big smile.
the location is great, close to Mamilla, but quite. easy to get to and from, to any location

Room Tip: there is no hotel parking, but you can easily get street parking, just have a few coins for the mete...

My wife, our 3 year old son and 3 months old baby and I spent a weekend at the hotel. Our boy slept on a folding bed which was added to the room. The room itself is quite simple and modest, but we didn't look for anything more. The staff was very helpfull and assisted us with our queries and small requests. The hotel seemed very clean and the breakfast we had was nice. I think that the only drawback is the price which is a higher than what we would have paied at HaMoshava (which we planned on booking at the first place).

Wow! What a great experience we had. Such a clean, quiet, and well-kept place! We are so thankful for everything we got. Mice, clean rooms, great breakfast, free wi-fi, coffee 24/7, great price, and great location! Can't ask for more. Definitely recommending and going back on my next visit.

Room Tip: We had the room by the roof, this was a nice bonus as we had our coffee on the roof.

This hotel is located in the prettiest neighborhood in Jerusalem. It feels very residential so you get a taste of local life. The staff was helpful. However, I found the rooms outdated and the breakfast was subpar. The hotel is affordable for Jerusalem, so I guess you get what you pay for.

As others have said, the location of this hotel is excellent. A 20 minute walk to the old city and slightly less to Jaffa Street to catch the light rail. The hotel is clean and well maintained. The street is relatively quiet. Some might consider the rooms to be small, but comparatively speaking, they are of average size with plenty of storage. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was large enough. Breakfast is simple yet tasty. This is a no-frills hotel that provides quality service at a reasonable price.

Most of the hotel staff were very helpful and went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel.
