“Just a good small hotel”
Reviewed May 10, 2011

The hotel is located in a quiet and nice residential area. There was nothing particularly unusual or extraordinary but everything was good - the room was nice, the hotel staff was reasonably helpful, the breakfast was good. We were happy with our stay.

If you want to be close to the Old City and Downtown for a great price this is the place to be. The staff was helpful and I enjoyed the free breakfast!

Service was helpful. Paying for double room as a single person was a pain. (Most things expensive in Israel unfortunately.)
Room was nice except I think there should be small safe and small fridge in each room.
Location was convenient and pleasant, with some reasonably priced eateries nearby.
Liked best: simply it was a good base, and comfortable.
Liked least: the fan heating systems everywhere as they are noisy and ineffective - and must be costly to run! Radiators would maintain the heat once on, and be silent.

My wife and I have just returned from a 3 night stay in this hotel, with our 8 month old girl. It was the first time we have been abroad with our baby, so we needed a hotel which was conveniently located (not too far away from the old city) and with helpful staff. The Little House hotel had this and more.

It is located just a short (10-15 minute) walk away from the old city and in a leafy area of Jerusalem that has an upmarket feel. A good place to stay if you want to get away from the noise of the city.

This really is a very well run hotel. Our room was clean and reasonable spacious. The baby facilities at the hotel (cot, high chair etc) were good. We absolutely loved the breakfast - a buffet offering a great selection of option (cereal, bread, fruit, salad bar, croissants, egg shakshuka etc). The gentleman in charge of the breakfast did a great job and made us all feel very welcome every morning. 24 hour coffee and free internet access are available for all guests which was excellent.

Above all though, we found the overall service we received to be excellent. Staff were patient (much needed when travelling with a 8 month old!), helpful and friendly. In particular, Liat, the manager on reception desk, was exceptional.

We would like to thank the hotel once again for making our stay in Jerusalem so enjoyable.

The hotel is very nice. Some of the furniture require some mending, but the bed is very good and the room comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is excellent. Free wi-fi access throughout the hotel, and the location is within walking distance from the centre of Jerusalem.
There is an issue with the parking, that requires getting up early to use the parking ticket machine by 8am. Try to find parking tickets in one of the kiosks in the centre of Jerusalem to give yourself few more hours of sleep.

Good points: very well located, good breakfast
Bad points: Upkeep of the hotel in general was lacking and it could use a general refurbishing; particularly troublesome was the noise level in our room on the second floor, from the corridor, where we could hear everyone walking by and opening and closing their doors and talking loudly; from the bathroom, we could hear our neighbours moving in their room. The thin wooden door to the room was not well fitted, allowing not only noise but also light from the corridor to pass into the room at night. Sheets and bedding and towels were clean, but the bathroom was far from spotless with mildew in the corners of the bathtub. At least once after returning from an outing, we had to wait for 5 minutes for the girl at the reception desk to finish her phone conversation before she could give us our room key. We stayed there for 2 nights and expected more for $150-160/night.
