love this place. It's always busy but not crowded. The service is friendly. The food is fresh, tasty and unique. We took the taste menu, all was so good, actually too good. We had to stop the waiter from bringing more food to the table. The Chef drop by with chasers and raised a toast with us and others....

“Not anymore”
Reviewed May 11, 2014 via mobile

The food is the same since couple of years. No innovation. A tourist trap, in a city that has not a lot of good restaurants. The food is boring, not amazing, very expensive. The desert was bad, Sara tiramisu.

“A wonderful dining experience”
Reviewed May 10, 2014

We had the chef's fixed price tasting menu. The food was excellent.
There was a lot of variety and everything was plentiful and delicious.
The ambience was pleasant as well. At first we couldn't find the entrance however as it is down a lane way, not on the main street.

“Excellent Jerusalem Restaurant”
Reviewed May 6, 2014

We really enjoyed our meal at Chakra.
It is certainly difficult to find, as it is tucked in behind the building, with hardly any signage.
The food is decidely non-kosher, with seafood items on the menu.
The prix-fixe dinner special menu offered very good value (relative to Israel restaurant prices). It begins with an appetizer assortment (all excellent, particularly the chopped liver and the fried cauliflower), a large choice of main courses, and a dessert sampler.
One of us tried the whole grilled fish, which was superbly done.
Everything we tried was enjoyable, including a good bar selection, and excellent service from friendly young servers, all of whom spoke fluent English.
Highly recommended.

“Fancy place, great food”
Reviewed May 4, 2014

Great place with a traditional local cuisine with a modern twist, unless it is other way around - anyhow, very popular so booking is a must but some advance planning is worth it: chargrilled eggplant or carpaccio are just delicious; good service and an open kitchen to watch the meals being prepared.
