We had a discount voucher which enabled us to enjoy a fairly good meat repast at a reasonable price. The place was quite full but no reservation seems necessary on a regular weekday.
It's a known restaurant for many years and their meat is good, but maybe because of that, they do not invest in renovating the place! It needs a good painting job and a serious renovation of the lavatories. Besides that they should replace the chairs for more comfortable seating arrangements.

We visited El gaucho using a voucher for a three-course meal. It was a very bad experience. Firstly the place looks run down and tired and badly heated. Secondly the food was bad. Some of the starters included deep fried burekas but apparently it came from the freezer because the inside was still frozen. We pointed this out to the waitor and he brough new ones - again half frozen. The main course was a selection of meats. The quality of the meat was the worst I have ever experienced. When we left the waitor stopped us because he was not satisfied with his tip!

Way overpriced and extremely fatty steak. We spent way more here than elsewhere in jerusalem and it was by far the worse meal we had. Kids meal was also expensive and the only place that didn't include desert. Even the churros were average. The waiter was very rude at the end she I went to leave a 20 shekel tip based on the average experience we had he pulled me up and said leave 10 per cent which I was in shock about. Would never go again

Went on recommendation of friends. Read the poor reviews on the site but went anyway, and really sorry we did.
Had the Prime Rib on the recommendation of the waiter ( who tried his best). 2 of us ordered this, and was not cooked as ordered, was VERY fatty and way overpriced . Side dish of sliced potatoes was awful. Also, prices are higher than on menu on website, so be warned. Would STRONGLY rcommend going elsewhere, just not worth it.

I was in El Gaucho years ago and request a Antricote beef well done, but when it arrive a see to much blood and request to return and give more time the the fire, few minutes after I receive the same full blood beef. It was simple and terrible and too much expensive.
