Please consider this - as far as I know Barbarossa does not claim to be a chef restaurant, it's a pub and therefore you can find good food but this is not the main reason to go there....
If you're looking for a place to meet young people and hear good music, if you want to enjoy good draft beer and worthy Happy hour then this is the place to go to!
In my opinion the food is very good but it's a matter of taste and as people wrote there are better and less better courses... I like the the burger and the pork steak..

BTW, there are 2 Barbarossa's in Haifa. this review was written on the one near the "Horev" mall.
Enjoy

Nice place, the food menu is missing, and i didn't like all the food. But the service and atmosphere are ok.

"Barbarossa" stands in place of the former "Rene" restaurant in Haifa. You can find here both seafood and meat dishes, as well as large variety of sushi. The quality is just "ok". Average cuisine, and nothing to be enthusiastic off although there might be some exceptions depending on your choice, as some dishes can turn out to be better than others. Highly recommended the "Classic shrimps" which are a large dish of shrimps together with light potato gnocchi, served in a juicy lemon / parsely / buttery cream. In this dish, butter is not overused as instead is in pasta dishes for example as some other friends that were with me took , and the taste of the food is thus preserved.

Sushi instead is just ok, but since it was introduced to us as "new" offer, it could improve in the future.

The restaurant is however worth a visit. The interior design is quite young and cosmopolitan, and the view is just stunning: it is on the top of the Haifa cliff, in front of the Dan Panorama Hotel, with a huge window facing Haifa Bay. In clear-sky days you can see as far as the Lebanon border, and enjoy a 180-degree view, spanning from the Mediterranean see to the deep Galilee. In the night, the lights and the background music can be pretty good settings either for a dinner with friends as well as for a romantic meal.

Have just left the restaurant with 2 business colleagues and have to say we had a great meal. The service was professional and attentive but without being overpowering. The location is stunning even though we did not have a window seat.

The atmosphere was fabulous - good music and a nice buzz.

The food was delicious with good quantities all round. Tried a local 'Tulip' Shiraz wine which was far better than expected.

Will certainly go back next time I am in the area.
