The hotel/hostel is small but easy to find, close to the central train station and close to the short, practical subway. My room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. Parts of furniture worn down and I found the pieces of art in the common areas tacky.

I didn´t miss a fridge or TV in the room. The small common kitchen is well equipped and the living room (with TV and a book case), lobby, garden, breakfast and computer areas served well. Never a crowded feeling. Easy to grab food at many places nearby, from gourmet sandwiches to falafel, fish or shnitzel. Hotel breakfast included coffee (from a machine, but OK cappuccino), juice, jogurt or milk with cereal, bread, cheese, fish, veges, fruit, and jam.

This was a place with easy going travelers from all around the world. I would gladly have stayed much longer than 5 nights.

I didn´t need it but have to mention another plus: an ironing board and iron for anyone to use, in the corridor.

Port Inn is a very nice, friendly place in the middle of Haifa, close to the German Colony, as well as the Port and other quarters of the city, which itself is not big, everything can be reached out easily from this guest house.
Originally we booked a triple room and 2 beds in a 9-bed dormitory, but few days before our arrival i got an email from the staff, that they'd offered us a 5-person apartment for the same price seeing that 5 ppl is travelling together. It was a very nice offer indeed.
The apartman itself was clean and neat. We got fresh towels every single day.
Unfortunately the weather was a bit cold, so we could not hanging out in the garden, but i must say that it is a perfect place to take breakfast or just to drink a few bottles of wine.
The staff-well, we just met the receptionists, but they were very nice and helpful.
Port Inn is definitely recommended.

Brilliant location. The whole place has a warm chilled out fmaily feel to it. the bunks of the dorm where we stayed were a bit tight but the cleanliness of the room and toilets made up for it. the place has a nice garden and lounge area that gives it a fmaily charm and helps to chat with other hostel guests.

I originally booked a 3 night stay, but due to an injury ended up staying 9 nights to receive medical treatment.. The Port Inn is very centrally located and just across the street from the main train station.. The hostel is located in the downtown section of Haifa, 1 block from the port, thus the name.. Whats nice about the location is its very close to Paris Square which is the first stop of the subway, "the Carmelite".. The Carmelite goes up mount Carmel and will take you to Carmel Centre, from where a short walk takes you to the Bahai Temples and Gardens.. Also the best views of Haifa are seen from area on Street Yafe Nof.. The Port Inn is also just a short walk from German Colony, which is the main entertainment area of Haifa.. Very close to the Inn you will find many pubs, restaurants, and falafel/swarma shops.. There is a large supermarket only 5 minutes away with the cheapest prices I have seen in Israel..

The Port Inn itself appears to have been recently remodeled, and is very clean.. Actually it is the cleanest hostel that I stayed in, In Israel.. It is owned and run by a family, and everyone working there was extremely friendly, and also quite helpful in navigating Haifa and the surrounding areas.. The rooms were quite large, and cleaned daily, as was the entire facility.. There is a very nice living room area with a large flat screen T.V. with satellite service.. The kitchen area is small, but large enough to cook in, if desired.. There is a beautiful outside garden area out back, where most people hang out after a long day of touring the beautiful city of Haifa.. I felt that the owners of the Port Inn really cared about the guests staying there, and I would not hesitate staying at the Port Inn again when next in Haifa........

Port Inn- is it an inn or a hostel?- either way, a nice little place to stay. I stayed in a double, en suite- a good sized room and bathroom, with a cute balcony. The breakfast was top notch- the best in all the places i stayed (I stayed in 4 different hotels in Israel).
The location is good- about halfway between the Germany colony main street and the tram that goes up to the Bahaai gardens. Very walkable. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and gave me a city map as well as a small local map helping me find the bus to the museums, the tram, ATMs, laundry, cheap kebab stands, etc.
If I was in Haifa again, I would likely stay at Port Inn again.

The downstairs facilities are good with a cosy lounge and kitchen. The reception staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good and tasty. I have given the inn 3 stars because the room is shabby. I stayed in a private room with en suite. The only resemblance to the photo on their website is the pattern on the duvet cover. The bed is comfortable and clean. The room looks tired and sad. The en suite is not great. The tap for the basin is too big so the water goes everywhere. The bath towel was old and frayed with a hole in it.
My room was next to the shared bathroom facilities so it was very noisy throughout the evening and night with toilet flushing and shower noise.
