can't rave enough about this beautiful "diamond" of a museum ... the permanent collection is exquisite ... the netske collection is something you never tire of, and gorgeous each time anew. quiet and peaceful, a tranquil oasis. the video about tikontin is interesting ...

We saw it next door to the bahai gardens, so we entered. Quite a nice surprise.

Small museum, few paintings, but lovely and unique + a very good explanation for Japanese arts.

Worth a visit!

The only museum of Japanese art in the Middle East. it has a small collection, in a lovely building, and it also does temporary exhibitions on a regular basis. The guides are well trained and there is a very interesting video about the founder of the museum. Well worth a visit.

The museum holds changing displays of Japanese art an culture. Currently it is showing a display of kites.
The museum also has a cinema hall.
We go there at least once every 2 months.
Certainly recommended to any one visiting Haifa.

It was Sabbath, it was open and the museum is right next door to the Dan Haifa Hotel, so I went. Well worth it! Beautiful exhibit of Japanese kites. There was a docent, but only in Hebrew, during my visit. But no problem. Signage is good and it is in both Hebrew and English. Another room had a wonderful exhibit of miniature carvings. These were used as decorations and weight bearing on kimonos. Another room had wall scrolls from the 18th Century. Definitely worth a visit. Expect to spend 1-2 hours. There is a gift shop. No restaurant.

This is a small museum focusing on Japanese art. It was much smaller than we expected from the admission price. They had a special exhibit on Japanese Battle Kites which was quite interesting. There was quite a large café on the second floor - basic and functional but not at all Japanese (what no tea room?).
Hard to recommend unless you have nothing else to do in Haifa. It is nice and cool for a hor day.
