OK...so we arrived on Shabbat...but we still expected better service. The view from our room #1012 was amazing. However the furnishings reminded me of my 1979 college dorm room. The bathroom was updated and nice, but small. The breakfast buffet was very good and had a large selection. Location was very close to the Bahai Gardens. Overall, it was not a horrible place to stay...but I would not choose this hotel again.

Room Tip: be sure to ask for a room with a bay view.

Dear Sharon,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. We are pleased that you enjoyed the wonderful view our hotel rooms have to offer, and the delicious breakfast buffet selection. It is a regret to see that we have fallen short of your expectations. While a little late to rectify for your experience this time, I can assure you your comments have been taken on board for further discussion for the on-going renovations taking place throughout the hotel. Thank you for noticing the lovely bathroom updates. We work in stages to limit the impact on guests experience throughout the hotel.

Thank you once again for your feedback. We hope to have another opportunity of welcoming you back for an improved opinion and experience in the future.

Take Care,

Spent 2 weeks on business at the Dan Panorama in November 2013. This is a good basic value business hotel in the Carmel Center area. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and there is a small shopping center right next to the hotel. It is quite a distance from the beach, but close to other things like the Ba'hai Gardens and a park and zoo across the street.

Rooms are small, but that is normal for Israeli hotels. I had good service from all the staff I interacted with. The free breakfast is kosher dairy, so there is no meat, but it is good and they have an eggs cooked to order station. It is the same thing every day, and after two week I was getting kind of tired of it. The egg station is not operational during Shabat.

I used the business lounge quite a bit as a place to meet up with colleagues. They have some soup, snack foods, and desserts available, along with water, juice, pop, and wine, all for free. One sore point was no beer available in the business lounge, like in the Dan Carmel has down the street. The lounge is also fairly small, and can get crowded at times.

A few small negatives: The whole hotel lost its air conditioning for three days. This wasn't too bad in November, as you could just open the window. In the summer this would have been a major issue.

The beds are pretty hard, which didn't do too much for my back, and they short sheet them.

The hallways are somewhat worn, and the hotel could use some refreshing in the common areas. My bathroom seemed to be recently redone, and it was very nice, except there was no electrical outlet. Electric shaver users are out of luck.

Speaking of outlets, there are few in the room that are unused. And, a couple of the available ones were unusable because the springiness in the receptacle was so worn that plugs do not reliably stay in the socket and make good contact. I ended up have to unplug lamps to have enough outlets to charge laptop, cellphone, camera battery, etc. overnight at the same time.

Finally, the wireless is free only in the lobby, the bar, and the business lounge. Otherwise it is an outrageous $20 per day.

One big positive is the free tours the hotel sponsors on Saturdays. These are guided motor coach tours, and the destination varies; we went the first Saturday to Akko, and the second to Nazareth, Cana, and Galilee. Both trips were better than expected given the price paid (free!).

Despite the small issues, I would certainly return to the Dan Panorama. Some other colleagues stayed at a different hotel down by the beach, and from what they said I believe the Dan Panorama was the better choice.

I recently stayed at the Dan Panorama Haifa and was very pleasantly surprised. We booked 3 rooms for one night all of which were facing an amazing view ! The staff was wonderful to us, as club members we received gifts and were treated like royalty. The dinner that was included in the price of the room was wonderful. Staff kept coming to the table and asking if there was something we wanted or needed. Everyone was so friendly and we had a repeat performance at breakfast the next day.
The hotel's location is wonderful and within a couple of minutes walk you can see the Bahai gardens. The rooms have an amazing view of the port (the ones facing that direction) and the hotel was very clean and well looked after.
We shall certainly return !!!

Room Tip: choose the rooms facing the sea. They are magnificent !

Excellent personell polite treat, high class rooms, very tasty food. The atmosphere is relaxing, helping this is the jazz music at the lobby floor in the evenings, the dimmed lighting all over the places, the comfortable couches & pillows. You surely get the feelings that you are at home.

Room Tip: Higher floors with a room heading to the bay side having a great view of the bay. Ideal for photogra...

I visit Haifa every few months and I stay at Dan all the time. The rooms that are renovated are great. Fantastic shower pressure! the breakfast is first rate. The location is fantastic and the people are very friendly to me. I cannot imagine going to Haifa without staying at Dan. Parking is easy as well.

But that is really all to recommend it. The rooms are small. The price is high for what you get and they charge a high price for wifi on top of it. A couple of complimentary chocolates don't make up for it. The staff were friendly I will definitely be looking for an alternative place to stay next time in Haifa.

Luggage was transferred from the Dan Carmel, but it took ~45 minutes to get it bought to my room. The room was smaller than the Dan Carmel, but perfectly acceptable for a 1 night stay. Other than that, nothing wrong with it, but nothing also to make it stand out.
