On the campus of Haifa University. Very informative about history. Well presented with very descriptive labels. Worth the trip to the university.

“If you are interested in either history or archeology, I highly recommend going there”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

If you are interested in either history or archeology, I highly recommend going there: a large collection which is impressive in its variety and quality, all in a not-too-big space, with good explanations, and with no admission fee.

Otherwise, you might find it too far to get to (outside the city of Haifa, and with parking issues).

“Who says "You can't get something for nothing"”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

The Hecht Museum of the University of Haifa - an absolute treasure .. archeology wing and art wing..
Part of the Permanent archeological exhibit:
The permanent thematic displays:
(1) Phoenicians on the Northern Coast of Israel in the Biblical Period (amazing!) (2) Ancient Crafts and Industries (delightful) and The Ma'agan Mikhael Ancient Ship (incredible)
The Temporary Exhibit showing now - Hoards and Genizot as Chapters in History is absolutely fantastic..
All this and more - with no entrance fees.. so in this land of miracle you can get "something for nothing"!!
Really worth the trip.

“Archeological Exhibits Were Fascinating”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

We were constrained on time because the museum closes early on Friday. You could spend a lot of time looking at all the items on display - the signage is excellent. We were not so interested in the art, but the rest of the exhibits are very educational and interesting.

“nice small museum”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

If you have time and you go up to the university that is situated at the top of the Carmel mountain, take an hour and visit this small but interesting museum that has a small archeological collection beside some originals from Modigliani and other painters.
The view from the University tower worth the visit
