Description: A historical eatery, originally a coffee and ice cream place, today it has retained the name and the outside historical sign, as well as old pictures of Haifa, the restaurant and patrons decorating the inside, but the food is purely meat. The food is fairly simple, grilled meat of good quality, including pork - called in Israel "white meat" - accompanied by chips or grilled potatoes. The only specifically Romanian dishes that I could discover was a soup with pork bones whose name I did not retain and a mixed grill plate, which consisted of grilled cow meat entrails. This last I did order and it was really very nice. For the 50 Shekel the portion could have been bigger though. The restaurant lies in the downtown area not far from the government offices. Big place, not too noisy and accepts all credit cards and offers WIFI access, too. Open weekdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays till 5 p.m. and on Saturdays till 8 p.m. As desert they offer Bavarian Cream or Ice cream. A good wine and beer selection.

“Excellent, authentic Romanian restaurant”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

You know you came to a good place when most of the patrons are of Romanian origin... :-)
Our favorite Romanian restaurant in Haifa. Excellent pork steaks and Kebab. If you plan to go over the weekend (Friday or Saturday, at lunchtime), best reserve a table since the place is full.

“A good and cheap grill restaurant”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

That Romanian restaurant has a long history, and it seems that they haven't changed it. The food is very basic but tasty. The prices are more than reasonable. Don't expect for a fancy place, or you'll be disappointed. It's a very crowded place which will fit the younger also. The pork stake fillet was very good and so were all the starters.

“Typical workers restaurant”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

This is an senior Authentic Romanian restaurant (AFAIK started as an ice cream place) which occupies many harbor workers (but not only)
I think the tables, chairs cutlery (and people) haven’t changed for the past 30 years and that’s what give the place its unique character.
I would recommend chopped liver and Ikra (fish eggs with mayonnaise), for the main course take a pork steak (be aware it’s with a lot of garlic!) and drink black beer (no alcohol)
Personally I didn’t like the deserts but I know many did.
Prices are very low (for meat courses) and service is fast and clean.
Enjoy.
