Two couples on a nice spring Saturday noon enjoyed tasty traditional Jewish-European old style dishes accompanied with good Belgian beer at a very very reasonable pricing.
I join previous reviews and recommend the place warmly.

The most ancient Beer and restaurant in Haifa. belgian as well as Guiness Beers are very well adapted to the food served in the restaurant: the best pork chops in town! A must in Downtown Haifa!

This is supposed to be a gem of Haifa. A real authentic place visited by tourists from all over the world, even from Tel Aviv. Authentic it is and even rather gay (no pun intended) on Tuesday nights when there is live music. It has a very large offering of beers on tap very well served and bottled beers. The only problem is the food. It may be authentic Romanian but to my palate it is genuinely inedible. everything is swimming in fat and reeking from vast quantities of garlic. Indeed fat and garlic seem to be the two main ingredients. You can still spend an enjoyable evening if you stick to fries, pickles and beer - or if you are a fat and garlic fiend.

If you're looking for truly genuine Rumanian food - that's the place ( the place was opened in the early fifties...)

Great steaks, freshly smoked ham ( Costizza ), home made pickles, minced liver, Rumanian Kabbab with lots of French fries...yummy

A large choice of imported draught beers ( I recommend the fantastic Czech Staropramen brand )...

Don't forget to order the famous "Bavaria" dessert...
