“Tuesday Night Rocks!”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

On Tuesday nights from 8:00 pm Nathanzon street is closed off for a jazz/ rock performance just outside the restaurant. The atmosphere of one hundred people drinking and eating while listening to music on the street (need to reserve a table) is great fun!

“go!”
Reviewed June 24, 2012

east european food like in the old days mixed with a few more updated dishes (seafood). excellent choice of beers, the israeli goldstar that comes out of their taps is better than anywhere else. the atmosphere reminds you of an old time tavern, Reuven the owner is always there, his son Shlomi is the chef (i remember this place when the previous generation ran it). now that the summer begins they will tuesdays open until late evening (usually they close around 5pm) with some jazz music outside, great. try to sit in the entrance room and not in the inside upper room (you lose part of the atmosphere).

“The best East European kitchen in Israel”
Reviewed June 3, 2012

The only problem of the place is short working hours. All the other -- food, service, music -- outstanding. Go book the table!

“One of the best choices in Haifa”
Reviewed February 29, 2012

This place serves excellent beer, very well made food, and excellent atmosphere. Prices are friendly, and so is the service. The food itself is traditional Eastern European in style - somewhat outdated, but well made. It is often rich in calories. There are a few snags though - the place is open in the evening ONLY ON TUESDAYS (otherwise it closes at 17:00), it is closed all day on Saturdays, and is a little bit hard to find (don't even try, just ask around, most people will be happy to guide you to the place). Also, finding a place to sit here on Friday afternoon is difficult. If you are ready to ignore a few extra calories for once, scramble around to find the place, and have your beer in less traditional hours, your will be well rewarded with an experience to remember.
