“Good Value for your maoney”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

I must declare that I know the Nuriel family in person for many years. What ever the impression one may get reading my review, the fact is that we are coming back every year.
The place (5 rooms) was renovated last summer so you may smell the "new".

It is not aimed for romantic vacation, but it is certainly a wonderful place for family (kids are welcome) vacations and specially if you need more than one room for a bigger family (so you may enjoy the large garden in front of the rooms.

Prices are reasonable for this part of Israel and you really receive good value for your maney

My daughter and I stayed here for three nights while visiting friends on Kibbutz Dafna and touring the area. Nuriel is warm and friendly and the setting is beautiful. Every morning we drove across the street to Cafe Cookia on Kibbutz Dafna for breakfast. Nuriel's place is minutes from the Golan Heights and a wonderful place to be based.

We stayed for five nights at the Nuriel Guest House. Zimmer are not specifically luxury or modern, but complete and comfortable, beds are perfect, nice place to sit down in front of your Zimmer. The value of this guest house is that Miryam makes you feel like home. She greets you in the morning, asks what your planns are for the day and if she can be of some help. Without being too intrusive, with respect to your privacy. We were backpacking and she gives us a lift several times. The surroundings are gorgeous. A very relaxed place we can only recommend.

Miriam Nuriel is a wonderful hostess who provides a 1-hour tour (in English or Hebrew) to her guests, including a stop at her husband's orchard, where depending on the season you can eat apples or plums right off the tree. Her huge Israeli breakfast is available for an additional fee; we just supplemented the fruit and coffee she left in our room with bread, yogurt, and juice from the local store. Miriam is very knowledgeable and fun to talk to, and provides useful advice and discount coupons. It's a great base for exploring the Upper Galilee, near where Lebanon, Israel, and the Golan Heights come together. A car is necessary, but it is a short drive to historic, scenic, and recreational sites: rafting on the Jordan River (from Kfar Blum, which also has a zipline and climbing wall), Nimrod Castle (fortress built to protect Muslims against Crusaders), Mount Hermon (skiing), Banias Falls, tractor rides or bikes on Shear Yashuv, Kibbutz Mordechai where Teva Naot shoes are made, a major sports complex including Olympic-size ice rink at Metulla, birdwatching in the Hula Valley, and much more. They offer free use of a nearby club with pool (which I didn't check out). When you're tired of sightseeing, her yard is equipped with lounge chairs, pingpong, and children's playthings. The rooms are comfortable and have TV, fridge, and microwave.
