“The perfect family hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 30, 2013

This must be our 6th stay in this hotel - every so often we will deviate (Dan, Hilton, Herods) and always come back. The heated artificial sand pool remains the main attraction (though starting to need a boost of 'sand'). We reserved the Family room which has an extra alcove with two beds for the kids (8,5) leaving us the main lounge clean and tidy. Washing equipment, dishwasher with powder, two toilets, shower, bath - what more do you need? A great breakfast with all we and the kids wanted. Thursday afternoon front desk was stressed, but staffed helped best they could. Will be back again next year.

Room Tip: Spend a little extra for the family rooms in the 'vered' (rose) wing.

Events: On the1st night, party on floor above at 1-3pm, 3 calls to security and nothing stops.
2nd day await to move rooms till 2pm and get no call approving to do it.
Upon return from pool, even though "do not disturb" sign is on outer door handle, the door is slightly opened. I push it open and discover the room cleaning Sudan guy holding fridge door from closing with leg while our family water bottle is open in his right hand and the cap is in his left hand. In the room, at this time are tons of personal belongings everywhere. I ask what he is doing here, he says cleaning and preparing the room for next guests. Front desk new the night before we will be in the room till 5pm that day. Kitchen is full of leftovers, food wrappers and garbage under sink is overflowing. Yet, nothing was removed, it was the food in the fridge that interested him.
**so what else was he doing that I didn't see?**
We submitted letter to on their site. they replied late & insincerely.
Nov 23, 2013 facts from Isrotel customer service Mgr letter Avivit Ada to us.
Avivit found time to reply to our concerns after 2 weeks of a really terrible stay.
“you were very disappointed to hear about the experience”.
Avivit she was: “sorry”. And she chose not to email me back right away, rather than send an international letter by mail 3 weeks...
“they have learned from our experience and moved forward to repair matters”.
That shows the disproportion between the emotional intelligence and integrity a company your size should possess – but fails to deliver.
Avivit had an indecent proposal for us folks: She suggested having us return to stay at hotel (animal farm) is irrelevant, pathetic and rude since she is well aware that we don’t reside in Israel, upon arriving – require much more effort to travel to Eilat and finally the 25% discount (that cannot be used in all kinds of dates) is just crazy.
Your proposal is untactful, unprofessional and pretty much is along the lines of offering nuts to a toothless individual.
I am publishing this because Israel does have amazing hotels and service, and to increase the chances you stay at one.
No one on vacation should experience such an insane situation.

Room Tip: Choose a room that is not run by Isrotel.

1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2013

We have stayed at various Istrotel hotels in Eilat over many years and have never had any problems until now.
We booked 2 suites.for 5 nights. One for my daughter and husband and 2 children (6 year olds) and 1 suite for my husband and myself. We specifically booked suites next to each other so we could babysit.
We specifically asked if there was a heated pool as it was October and many pools are too cold to swim. and our grandchildren love swimming. We were told we would have 2 suites next to each other and YES there is a heated pool.

We arrived at the hotel about 5 p.m. and as we entered our suite we were unable to get into the room due to the very very strong smell of cigarette smoke. It was really very thick.
We called down to the reception from my daughters room and they told us they would contact us.
We waited about 30 minutes and we phoned down again. We had 2 young children after travelling all day who were very tired. Eventually after a very long time they offered us a room
3 floors down. We explained why we wanted to be near our grandchildren. Again after many calls to reception asking what is happening we were told they had fumigated our room. I really dont expect to have to sleep in a room straight after it has been fumigated especially as my husband uses a breathing machine to sleep with.
Eventually after almost 2 hours they gave us a room on the same floor for 1 night overlooking the car park and the next day they would move us 2 suites away from our grandchildren.

The next day we wasted part of the morning changing rooms. We then took our grandchildren
down to the pools and they were freezing. We asked which one was heated and were told they
dont heat any pool until November. We told the reception we made the booking on the basis of a heated pool. They just shrugged.

The bed settee that the children had to sleep on in my daughters room was broken and had slats missing so we asked for it to be fixed. No one came. We then decided to give them our settee which was also had slats missing.
We would come back in the afternoon for lunch to find the rooms were never cleaned or made up until we complained and then had to leave the room again for them to clean. This was daily.

Our 6 day holiday turned into a nightmare. To add insult to injury on the afternoon when we
were driving home having left the hotel, 6 days after we arrived. we had a phone call from the hotel apologizing , offering us an upgrade and a free meal. Obviously they knew we had already
checked out.

WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY. This is an expensive hotel with very bad service.

Room Tip: Book another hotel

Great hotel with spacious rooms, although the rooms are a bit worn down. Lovely pool area, even with an artificial beach! Very clean. Very family friendly!

Cons: was waken up early by room service (cleaning), so remember to put the "do not disturb"-sign on your door knob. Window was left open/balcony door left unlocked after cleaning several days - with a risk of being robbed.

The food from the snack bars in the pool area is of poor quality.

Room Tip: Rooms on ground level is not recommended if privacy is important. Would recommend a room on upper fl...

Hello Anette B,

I am pleased to read you enjoyed your family friendly vacation and loved the pool area so much. I am surprised to read the outside balcony door was not locked; I will certainly inform our operations team of this, as guest security and safety is our number one priority.

Thank you for your review and I hope we get the opportunity to welcome you back again.

We got a grate price for this hotel from a travel agent. The area of the hotel is quite larg relativly to other hotels in Israel. The rooms are large with a small kitchen clean and comfortable. Eilat is not a big city nontheless the hotel has a good location closen to Eilat beach. We had a great time for a great price. Oh and the brakefast was sssooo good...

Been here 3 times now, with 1, 2 and now 3 kids. Extremely family friendly with large rooms, kids club and 3 excellent pools. Even in the holiday season it doesn't feel too crowded. Also within walking distance (2 mins) from the beach and promenade.

We booked this hotel after enjoying it 2 times in the pass but unfotunatly it was a dissapointment this time. It was over crowded due to the holidays which made it unpleasent. The dining room is very very dark and the choise of food is not large and with very littel space between tabels so its very noisy and not pleasent.
the pools are just great and beautiful but again overcrowded...

Hello abigail a,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. I am disappointed after two fantastic stays your third was not as good. During holiday periods Eilat is a very popular spot for families to vacation and most hotels are booked to capacity. Perhaps next time, you might want to visit during the off-peak season, as generally Eilat is not as busy.

We do hope to be granted the opportunity to welcome you back.
