This is one of the most popular hotels in Eilat and prides itself on being very child-friendly. It offers a Kid's Kingdom, babysitting at reasonable rates and the family rooms are a good size with a separate bedroom that sleeps two comfortably. The Kid's Kingdom offering is ok but could do with some modernising and we generally found the staff rather unattentive.
We got babysitters most nights and were able to dine in some of the excellent restaurants in the Isrotel chain - most notably Wang's Grill and the Ranch House at the nearby Royal Beach, and the Brasserie at the KSP itself.
When the hotel is quiet (Sunday to Wednesday) it is a very nice place to stay, although there are better and newer hotels in Eilat. Although there has been some refurbishment work recently the hotel is starting to look a bit dated. The food at the buffet is plentiful and themed some nights but the quality does vary. The offering for children is always the same and is pretty basic. There is never any ice cream for the children, and the fresh fruit is poor in choice and quality.
From Thursday through to Saturday the hotel turns into a living hell as large corporate groups arrive and basically take over every inch of the hotel. Breakfast on and dinner are a nightmare as hundreds of people descend like vultures on the buffet, pushing and shoving as if they have never seen food before in their lives.
This was our second time at the KSP but we have stayed in Eilat many times before and will continue to do so. But I doubt we'll be staying at this hotel again.
