Isrotel King Solomon
Ranked #15 of 61 Hotels in Eilat
Reviewed June 4, 2014

Good location, good food and good room. Even if this hotel is probably one of the first hotels built in Eilat, it is very nicely renovated from outside and inside as well.
During holiday the dining room may be overcrowded and if you prefer calm room, the more quite part of the hotel is the one not facing the lagoona and the swimming pool.
The hotel does not have its private beach but you can stay choose the beach you prefere and stay there after you pay a small fee for the chair. Anyway, private beach of the hotels are closing and locking their chairs at 6 o'clock p.m., while others are opened till the last guest stays there. There is a kosher diary restaurant "Angelina", just next to back entrance to the hotel. It's an italian style food with tasty pasta meals, good wine list and very nice staff. It was our second visit of this restaurant, and since the last autumn, when we have been there for the first time, they are still keeping their standard on.

A never again trip!
The Hotel was overbooked and dominated by large groups of French people. Who wants to be away on holiday with French women fighting in the Breakfast room and French men punching each other round the Pool area over a dispute for loungers?
The Hotel management or Restaurant Manager did nothing to ease the situation.
Four of our party booked a tour to Petra via the Hotel at 250 dollars each. The booking was through Eilat Attractions, based in the Hotel, although the actual tour turned out to be run by Paradise Tours. Paradise Tours are based only 5minutes from the Hotel and we're charging 175dollars for the Tour when booked through them. When we asked for a refund of 75dollars per person we were refused even though Eilat Attractions were aware of the very large variation in the price. What a CON!!
What should have been a holy family period merely turned out to be an exercise in how a hotel goes about maximising their profits and showing little regard to the enjoyment of their clients.

We loved the food and the room. Our week long holiday was the best we ever had. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We also had a great time using the hotel's spa. We never missed a meal and constantly used the room service. The hotel is in the middle of most of the attractions Eilat has to offer.

we stayed at the kings floor. we used quite a lot the VIP launch on the 12th floor which is very good , quite with beautiful view and good food.
we had breakfast in the Cafe Royal which is excellent.
the Israeli breakfast buffet is very good in all the hotels , but in this hotel in the Cafe Royal is superb.

Room Tip: rooms to the east side of the hotel, facing Royal Garden hotel

Good hotel, but very busy. We spent our stay mostly during weekend; all hotel facilities were almost full. Take into consideration that restaurants are following "kosher rules", breakfast are served without any meat (no ham, sausages, bacon ...). Due concentration of lot of hotels in this location, even beach in peak time is overcrowded. For good swimming, snorkeling and resting we find the beach very closed to Egyptian border (opposite Princess Hotel). Clear water, silent place and very rich underwater life visible even from the shore or from a pier

Room Tip: Try to get a room on upper floor, not directly over restaurant and swimming pool.

We also had a very mixed experience, spending 10 days in this hotel (half board) with family over Passover.

On the good side the hotel has a lovely pool, is in a good location and the buffet meals in the dining room were well cooked, with varied food that never seemed to run out. The communal seder was well organised and the food was delicious. I think that given the hotel was totally full, it was generally well run and efficiently organised.

On the bad side the hotel was always extremely noisy, especially by the pool and in the dining room, and there were people everywhere. The pool loungers ran out quickly (sometimes leading to heated exchanges between guests), and they were uncomfortably close together. Our 3rd floor room was shabby, especially the bathroom, but refurbished rooms on higher floors were not available. The room was just above the dining room and bar, and was very noisy in the evenings and from 6am in the morning when we were regularly woken up. The dining room was quite a daunting experience, with so many adults, kids and toddlers queuing for food at the same time. Evening meals had to be taken in the dining room very early, and staff started hoovering around us before we'd finished our meal on several occasions.

I think your enjoyment of this hotel depends on what you want from a holiday. For kids it is just paradise, for adults who enjoy a bit of peace and quiet on holiday to relax and perhaps read a few books, and who do not want buffet for every meal in a very noisy dining room, it is not.
