“Nice pool and activities for children”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2011

Location is great, close to the shopping center, I-MAX and the beach.
We all liked the pool :)
The rooms are not in a great shape....clean and it's nice to have a small kitchenette (especially if you have kids), but the furniture is very old and my back still hurts from the terrible mattress ...

It is close to the beach. That's about the only good thing I can say about it. The furniture is uncomfortable and ratty, the staff unfriendly, the pool so crowded it's tough to get a seat by it and you don't want to swim in it. Loud.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2011

We've stayed there for a week 28.03 - 03.04 2011 through a time-share my husband's grandparents own for many years.

The first 4 days we were just the two of us and the last 3 days 2 more couples joined in.

The good things:
* The service was quite good in terms of cleanliness (every day) & providing us with extra towels and pillows during the day hours.
* The private jacuzzi on the balcony was great and we enjoyed it every day.
* We've also had a massage at the spa and it was nice.
* We didn't use the gym but if you're a gym goer it's well equipped and has a good range of equipment.
* The suite allows up to 6 people and with 2 nice size bathrooms, a reasonable kitchen and 2 dining tables (inside and outside on the porch) all six of us felt pretty comfortable and not too cramped up.
* the master bedroom has nice beds with electrical control.
*there are plenty of activities for kids allowing parents down - time.
*very close to the mall and the sea (70 meters).
* has parking.

The bad things:
* NOISE late at night - There's an entire east section of this huge hotel which is completely uninhabitable due to night clubs playing at all hours. Unfortunately, this includes all suites facing the sea too. the first night we had to change rooms in the middle of the night and even called the police to complain about the noise (illegal after 12:00 at night). The hotel security refused to complain about the noise themselves, we later found out why - to make some extra $$ the host wedding and bar-mitzvas on the hotel premises (around the pool areas) till past midnight.
* had to spend half a day in the room for the technician to fix the room phone line and to get a water jug delivered to the room, which for some reason required our presence.
* Ran down - the hotel is indeed a relic of its glorious past (80's and early 90's). The decor is clearly made to look like a ship, which is quite cheesy, but kids probably would appreciate it.
* Hotel food - DO NOT eat at the hotel. there are plenty of great restaurants a walking distance and the food at the hotel dinner/breakfast reminds of a school lunch buffet.

Room Tip: request a room away from the night clubs noice.

I was terrified by the extremely mixed online reviews of this place, but decided to take the plunge and try it out with my husband and toddler since it’s the only RCI resort in Israel (where we live) that comes up as an exchange on a regular basis. There were a few differences between this place and other resorts we’ve stayed at in the States, but all in all it was a very positive experience I would do again!

Unlike most other timeshare resorts, this one had an added fee of 400 shekels in addition to the usual fees of home resort maintenance and RCI exchange fee; we were also disappointed that unlike most Israeli hotels, it did not come with free breakfast (though the partial kitchen in the room was totally adequate; we went to the big grocery store, Supersol, on our first day there and bought food for the week). There are both meat and dairy restaurants in the hotel – we didn’t try the meat place (which was inside the arcade!), but one day for lunch we got a pizza from the dairy place (which they even offered to send to the room, but we chose to eat in the restaurant), and it was large and delicious. There is also a pretty large mini-market inside the hotel with a bakery and even ready-made food for shabbat (as an alternative to getting meal tickets for the restaurant). Unlike other timeshare resorts we’ve stayed at where they either do not clean the room at all during the weeklong stay or only come once to clean in the middle of the week, we were asked no fewer than THREE TIMES in the first 24 hours of our stay if we needed our room cleaned, extra towels and shampoo, etc. (in addition to every day)! We were also impressed that we were able to jump to the front of the check-in line when the staff saw that we were traveling with a baby, and were very appreciative. The resort is huge and beautiful – they really spare no details in their quest to be the biggest and most authentic cruise ship-shaped theme resort in the Middle East, from the “pirate” welcoming you as you walk onto the “boat” to the dolphin-shaped trash cans, starfish-patterned carpets and wall borders, ocean sounds in the elevator and surfboards lining the hallways. The location is excellent: only a five-minute walk from the mall, beach and boardwalk with tons of shopping and restaurants. My husband and I take advantage of hotel spas more often than not, and this was definitely one of the better ones – great massages! On the flip side, although we were here during “off-season” I can see where the other reviewers were coming from with complaints about noise, which is probably worse during holidays and the summer: when they do events in the lobby the music is VERY LOUD (just our luck we happened to be there during a radio station convention!)…

We just stayed at club hotel eliat for a week. We booked it through armed forces vacation club. It was $369 for one week. the hotel assess a charge for something of an additional 400 NIS (about $112). the hotel was clean, and comfortable but Eilat itself is beautiful right on the red sea! Beautifule beaches, boardwalks/promenade bazaar booths and shops. Some have said negative things about this hotel. Maybe in the summer it is not so pleasant with the hotel full. But in Jan most of the week it was quiet and plea ant. My husband and I enjoyed sitting out on our balcony in the sunny afternoon with a cold drink. the weather was perfect for it not to hot that you get sunburned but enough sun that you weren't cold. Swimming in the red sea was refreshing too. coming back to a clean, fresh smelling room with nice hot showers (good pressure too) was always appreciated. the pool was also nice and warm and the jaccuzi looked inviting, though I never did get in it. There was some evidence or repairs being made and at this time of the year not all the pools had life guards so they were rope of from use. the units have a microwave, fridge, dishes to use if you want to save a little money on food. they have a supermarket in the hotel and there are others within walking distance. Etti at the information/attraction desk can set you up for tours or packages to the Eilat underwater observatory. She was very friendly and helpful. We booked the underwater observatory package which came with admission to the park (you could get a 3 day pass for free), a ride in glass bottom boat and snorkeling at mikalob(spelling?) It was perfect we spread it out over 3 days and enjoyed it. This was a great and relaxing time for us before we joined our Holy land tour in Israel More about the hotel - We stayed in the Atlantic building on 4 th floor - the carpets near the elevator was a bit worn and a few tiles missing from one of the elevator. Also for those americans reading this there is a health club/gym but it cost $35 shekels per day. I am unclear if this is because we got the hotel at a discount or if this is true for all guests. Overall, We really don't have any complaints, we enjoyed our stay and will come back to this hotel. We are already starting to plan. Oh yeah, we actually thought the cruise ship theme was rather quaint!

I know, I know....I read the reviews and knew to expect a lot of kids and noise...OK..that's true. We stayed using our timeshare and had probably the noisiest room in the place...right over the outdoor sitting/cafe area. We witnessed a wedding, a bar mitzbah a late night Shabbat and constant, awful musak. That said, the place grew on us. The market on the premises had everything you would want (even though the room had no cooktop) Eat Israeli style..buy hummas, bread and olives and yogurt, juice and you will do pretty well. Even the cruise ship look of the place became rather cute instead of tacky. I thought it was fun to ride the elevator that sounds like you are descending or ascending in a submarine. We had good housekeeping and service was prompt when our sink clogged up. The front desk people are harried and they do get brusk but we understand that as they have to deal with some awfully rude guests. The Grotto pool was heated in December and that was the best little pool to lounge around. There are rocks and little coves and it is a lot more quiet than any of the other places. Little kids are automatically discouraged because it is all deep water. The complex is kept clean...Israelis don't litter anyway...no one left cigarette butts or trash laying around...they put their trash in the nearest trash can . We were the only Americans there. Mostly Israeli families and a few Russians.
We probably wouldn't stay here again if we came back...but we thought it was kinda fun.

We might have not been so lucky, but the service was poor.
The stuff was rude and unpolite.
We asked for the additional blankets and got it only after an hour, when I went to the housekeeping room and took it by myself.
On the check-out hour they almost "threw us away" , not giving us even a few minutes to finish packing...
On the other hand, there are very good amenities for the kids, they were so happy, that we can appologise the staff for their poor service :)
