“Super cool for the advanced adventurers”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

One of the two days I spent at Eilat was hiking at Timna and I do not regret it one bit. We woke up at 4:30am (a must if you want to avoid summer heat) and took a bus to Timna. There is a 10-20 minute walk into the park (don't let others scare you about this walk. We had many people tell us we are crazy for doing this) and then the real hiking begins. You can walk down the main road, but it's boring, so we hiked all the way to the very top of Mount Timna. It was scary at parts, but the adrenaline kept us going. If you are not in good shape, this one's not for you. If you are, then the hike is amazingly rewarding.

“I visit places like this late autumn or late spring”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

There is transport around the park but we prefer to pay for transport entry and we drive our own car. You cannot see all there is to see on one visit but if you devote a day to this huge place with wonderful scenery and amazing sights then you can pick and choose on a second or third visit the places you want to drive straight to. The lake with the lovely view is charming and you can play with the colored sand to fill a bottle provided. So far I have 4 bottles. ..
The natural food restaurant has very reasonably priced tasty meals.

“Moonlike landscapes”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

This park has everything you need: archeological site, the pillars, the screw rock, walking on the moon (-; (Sting, remember ?), workshops of ll kinds for the kids and even a small a small "lake" where you can gt a paddle boat.
From May till October it becomes real hot at noon so take with you hats and water not to get dehydrated.
Plan to stay at least 4 hours because there is plenty to do and for us, western city folks the change is amazing.
The silence, the colors, the blazing sun, the rocks, the sand, the surrounding hills and farther mountains ...

Really a must do in Eilat

“Simply Amazing”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

We spent the day here, walking, driving, paddle boats on the lake and eating (fantastic food) not sure if we had a special meal though because the kitchen was closed but they had some other food available which was terrific. The tabernacle tour is a must. The lady who takes this tour is very knowledgable and friendly. We went in winter, so it was not too hot. Take comfortable shoes if walking or a bike if you want to ride the bike trails.
