Timna is a national park half-an-hour from Eilat.

The views are fantastic, with a marvelous mix of sandstone and mineral mountains and fascinating archeology sites (mostly from old mining activities).

I visited this park twice, self-driving. All the geological and archeological attractions mentioned in the provided maps are worth seeing. The Restaurant and artificial pool area is so-so, but if you are traveling with children it is worth a stop to explore available activities).

The park is a great way to get a feeling of the desert even if you are self-driving. It is a few minutes from the main road to Eilat but you will feel in a whole different world. There are also several trekking and 4x4 routes if you have more time.

Natures forces have carved beautiful geological formations such as mushroom and pillars into the sandstone. The park located about 50 km north of Eilat offers not only geology, but also a peak into ancient copper mines, boating in the desert, sand art and more.

Our visit to Timna Park was very enjoyable and enriching experience with the highlight a visit to the Tabernacle were we enjoyed a guided tour by a very kind lady who has a obvious passion for her work and very knowledgeable. As followers of Yahushua Messiah ourselves we really enjoyed the presentation and learned a lot. This was one of the main highlights of our Israel tour. Thank you.!

We were with two kids in November. You drive with a car around Timna valley. Beautiful views, interesting places. After that relax and take some traditional meal in the restaurant. Probably in high season there are more things to see/do there, but for family there is no time to see anything more :(

Located north-east from Eilat within one hour drive. Barren large area of desert and the car is inevitable because the distances between the interesting historical places are quite long. There is entrance with toilets and even small cinema.
