Keren Kolot is clean, spacious, and with free wifi. There is a nice coffee shop where you can also purchase lovely souvenirs. Good breakfast and nice area to jump off for Hai Bar Yotfeta, Timna Park, or Eilat. Onsite sights are solar panels, Methuselah Tree, cows, even 2 pet camels.

The room was clean and large. The breakfast was basic. There is not much interesting things you can find in a walking distance. 1 weekend night costs 525 nis for a couple. The checkout is at 11, but at 10 a cleaning person woke us up.

For this price you can get a hotel in Eilat with a fancier room, better pool, better breakfast and more things to do around.

We were in Israel for 3 weeks and stayed at several different, low-priced places, most of which we found in the Lonelt Planet guide. Kibbutz Ketura was in the book. Let me just say that accomodations in Israel are quite expensive so we stayed in hostels, field schools, and zimmers. But even still, the rooms are always about $150 USD. Do not expect the Ritz for that price in Israel.

Kibbutz Ketura gave us a nice clean room that fit our four-person family quite comfortably. There was a TV in the room. The setting was at the foot of beautiful mountains that looked like the state of Utah. We used the pool which was very refreshing. We had nice meals in the dining hall. As you walk around, you see that the kibbutz is a bit worse for the wear, but the housing for paying guests is quite lovely. The Arava Institute is located at this kibbutz.

Room Tip: Also check out Kibbutz Lotan, across the road. We did not stay there but visited it and the room loo...

This kibbutz in the desert sounds better then it actually is. The rooms are basic, beds are not very comfortable with simple thin sheets and blankets. The grounds of the kibbutz look a bit down at the heels, parches of brown among the grass, few planters with flowers or groomed paths. It's the kind of place people on Birthright trips or teen tours would enjoy but adults with families might prefer to find somewhere a step above.

My family and I stayed here for Shabbat (the weekend) as a stop before we go to Eilat.
As people who love animals, nature and don't need anything too fancy it was amazing!
The rooms are really nice, with a full kitchen, clean bathroom, large flat screen TV, a/c, and back porch/garden.
The meals are plentiful with a lot of good food. This is a traditional Kibbutz, meaning that everyone eats together, and helps out (though as guests, you're only asked to put your dirty plates and silverware on a counter by the washroom)
There's a synagogue on site (mixed).
Also, as people who love animals, we had a great time hanging out with all the cats, dogs, horses, camels, and cows. There's also some really cool birds and lizards around...
It's so nice there that my sister and I laid on the grass in our garden area on our blankets...
One night a bunch of the families staying there got together and did a big BBQ outside, it was really nice!
I warmly recommend this place and would come back!

If you are in Israel, and seek sweet silence and calm, consider Keren Kolot at Kibbutz Ketura.
I had the pleasure of staying here for a family gathering. This was a unique experience, not only the ambience and incredible views of the majestic mountains....but also the proximity of Israel's pioneer solar energy field, and "Methuselah", the only palm tree grown from seeds carbon dated 2000 years ago! The accomdations are very spacious, and a cut above most of the Kibbutz guest houses. The food adequate. Also for those who also seek a bit of night life, the city of Eilat is only a short ride (car or bus) away. A place with mystique.

This B&B is in kibbutz Ketura, about half an hour north of Eilat. The complex is very aesthetic, the view of the Jordan mountains breathtaking, the service great and the place interesting. The lobby has a little coffee shop that also sells souvenirs made locally. I have stayed here a few times and enjoy it every time again. Kibbutz Ketura is a very interesting place that combines being conservative religious with tolerance and ecology. If you go for a weekend, join the services in the synagogue and ask if a tour of the kibbutz is available.

Room Tip: There are rooms which can fit a family of four. They also have larger suites that have two different...
