This restaurant was right next door to our hotel. It was empty when we arrived, and only had a few tables occupied by the time we left.
The service was excellent! Everyone spoke at least some English and several of the staff were quite fluent. There were people straightening and cleaning in their down time, and that is one of the marks of a good restaurant, IMO. It tells me that the staff care about their environment and their customers. Everytime one of the staff was passing our table, they would stop to see of we were ok, and if we needed anything.
Our meal began with the 'house appetizers' which are brought out family-style before the entree. There was a salad, bread with meat baked into it, white rice, roasted potatoes, and a chili that tastes like it cooked all day. Everything was delicious. We ordered a steak, and filet medallions. Both were ordered medium-rare and they were just a tad closer to rare, but still very good and good-sized portion.
We also had cream puffs for dessert. More than enough for 2 people to share, and if there would have been a third person with us, it would have still been enough for 3. All in all, a very good meal.
Total bill with all of the above and 2 Coronas, 386NIS including 12% gratuity. Expensive, but everything in Israel is expensive.
