Manger Square Hotel

Certificate of Excellence

Stayed at the Manger Hotel for 10 days while staying in Bethlehem during November. It is ideally situated to many sites and within walking distance to the Church of the Nativity and a safe area to wander the many shops in the Square and beyond. The rooms are large with modern fittings. WiFi worked well in all areas of the hotel. I attended a Conference at the hotel as well and found the staff and food to be excellent. The only downside was during busy times the hot water didn't work efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Manger Square Hotel again.

Room Tip: Request a room on the opposite side of the building from the Square. Moslem call to prayer at 4.30a...

I stayed here with a group. My room was dark and lit only by 5 table lamps so I had to go in the bathroom to read anything. It was also very cold and the central heating didn't work. I turned it to 24 but it just went down to 18. I was so cold I asked to change my room but was told there were no spare rooms. I was offered a spare blanket. I tried to sleep with another duvet from the spare bed but was still cold. Next day a group of friends came with me and we asked to see the manager. He was not available. After a long discussion another room was found. This was better but still quite dark and not as warm as I would have liked. Food was ok but the same every day. The position was good and central. I believe the hotel is new but light and warmth need attention.

This is the perfect place to stay when you want to visit Bethlehem. It's near the Church of Nativity and Milk Grotto, just a few minutes walk.

The room space is a bit small but you wouldn't mind about it. Food is great, many food choices, spacious dining area and the waiters are quite helpful for things you need.

The hallways have interesting design, we had garden style on the floor we stayed.

Definitely will stay here on my next visit to Bethlehem

Location is the hotel's prime feature. It is exactly right at front of the entrance street to the Church of the Nativity. 2 minutes leisure walk. Food is fantastic and they have great waiters and restaurant manager. Rooms are clean and modern looking, it's as if you are staying in a 4 star hotel in the US. It is technically brand new but it already lives to its star rating. I am very particular with presentation and detail so I noticed the undetailed finishing of the inside of the elevator shaft (since it has a window overlooking the city of Bethlehem but you could still see the cement wall of the shaft). It could be more elegant if the owner paints the insides of the elevator shaft.

Room Tip: the suites are on the top floor. very spacious and have a jacuzzi that doubles as a bath tub.

The hotel was obviously planned and partially constructed with an optimistic view of local political situation. They never did finish the roof-top swimming pool. Everything else though was of high quality. To be able to walk to the Church of the Nativity at any time, rather than having to wait for "the Tour" was a relief. Never mind what you read and hear on media at home - this place is worth every effort to visit and probably safer than the streets of most British cities.

I stayed in the hotel couple of times and it really is the best hotel in Bethlehem- the proximity from the Nativity Church is unbeatable, only two minutes walk, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very stylish and clean. Regarding the price, it is very affordable and very competitive in comparison to the other hotels. I would definitely recommend the hotel to all of you who are looking for a pleasant stay in Bethlehem.
