“Banksy Graffiti Tour in the West Bank”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

Me and my sister booked with Murad Tours, based on some brilliant reviews that we saw online.regarding the company. We made an excellent choice by deciding to go on the West Bank tour, which we originally chose to see the wall and Banksy graffiti. A well known graffiti artist Banksy has some amazing art work throughout Bethlehemm and we were so glad that we had a tour guide who knew a lot aboout his art work on both private walls and the separation wall. We would never have been able to see the things we saw had we come alone, not to mention the information and background that was given to us throughout the tour and helped us to understand the historical and political context of the regional conflict and how it affects peoples lives living behind the wall. Thanks to Murad Tours and our great guide Yamen, we would definitely recommend this tour.

“Depends on what you are looking for”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2013 via mobile

Had a good day on the tour but really depends on what you want to see. Spent most of the morning in the Aida camp then went on to do tour of city. Morning was very interesting to learn about issue from Palestinian point of view, and you could tell it was a subject the guides felt they truly wanted to share. However, this can be heavy going and if you just want the highlights or more religious sights this is not the tour for you.

The tour was well organized and all guides and drivers were excellent.

“Bethlehem tour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2013

We took the tour of Bethlehem and Palestinian refugee area. It is a difficult review because the guide, Yamen, was one of the best we have ever had -- personable, friendly, accommodating, entertaining, etc. However, although we knew we would visit a refugee camp, the tour was, for us, top heavy, with politics. A different guide for the Church of the Nativity wanted to talk more about the recent Israeli siege of the church than the birth of Christ and attempted to rush us through the Church, suggesting we should not spend too much time in the nativity area. Thus, though we did hit the religious aspects of the area, more time was spent on politics. In short, if you're looking for a spiritual journey, this is not your tour. If you want a Palestinian perspective and a brief look at the Church of Nativity, this is a great tour.

“Tour was spectacular”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2013

Yamen the tour guide shows us exactly what it means to live as a Palestinian today. And he does it with sincerity, good humour and insight, that makes for an unforgettable experience. You never get this information from a tour book or pamphlet, and you will never get this view from the popular press or mainstream media in the US or UK. It is crazy that there is a travel advisory, probably because the US and Israel government does not want folks to see conditions of life in the West Bank under occupation. Take the tour, you will love it.

“Best tour in Palestine”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2013

Why? Because it shows not only touristy side of what it is West bank but the actual situation in the area. (Well, with a bit of pro-palestinian view but at the end of the day you decide because talking about the tour Yamen is telling also his personal story of living there and that is quite emotional). We did Hebron and Bethlehem. I suggest - do not miss Hebron, better book a whole day tour. As about safety - we felt completely safe - saying that the number of soldiers walking down outside of Bethlehem with guns is unbeatable so you choose, obviosly its not the safest place in the world but it's well worth visiting if you are into politics and understanding things a bit deeper (in fact I personally felt myself safer then in Jerusalem, for example). I wouldn't say it's religious tour though (if somebody looking for that) - we visited all the major places in Bethlehem and get good enough explanation but without too many religious details. We also got a chance to talk to people living, working or serving in Palestine which I think makes this tour unique. If you are not a spending 2 weeks on the beach kind of person, go for it! :-)
