“Church of St Catherine”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

A "modern" Church in comparison to its neighbour the Greek Orthodox Church of the Nativity, this is a lovely Church where Midnight Mass is held on Christmas Eve ( 24th December) and telecast around the world.
It is a beautiful, albeit somewhat lengthy service and free passes are required to enter the Church.A highly recommended, experience of a lifetime.
If you cannot make it to Midnight Mass, then there are regular service throughout Christmas day including a parish Mass at 10 am .
A moving, spiritual experience and a wonderful place to pray and welcome the Prince of Peace into our hearts.

“Almost modern!”
Reviewed November 14, 2012

Given its "neighbour", the Greek basilica (founded by St Helena in the fourth century & restored by Justinian several centuries later) the Franciscan church seems almost clean and modern.

“Quiter than Church of the Nativity”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

This is next door to the Church of the Nativity and not many people linger here. I was able to find a quiet corner up front and pray undisturbed for 30 minutes.

“Enjoy the Catholic spirit!”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

A real catholic experience, though I am an orthodox. Find the divine grace in a peaceful and holy, modest and beautiful church!
