Recommended in Trip Advisor and Fodor's so we had to try and were well rewarded. This is a great little restaurant in a nice central location providing delicious food at a fair price - what more could a traveller want?

We arrived in Selcuk not knowing if we would be able to reach the proprietor of the hotel we had booked in Sirence. While we were sorting it out, we decided to pop into Ejder for a quick lunch. The owners were so accommodating, hurriedly bringing a table inside, serving us delicious meals, and catering to our child's small appetite by splitting the order. The meals were lovely, we were impressed by the vegetable shish particularly. But what really struck us was the invitation to stay at their house 'no problem' if our hotel arrangements didn't work out! Not only that, but they were on the phone for at least 20 minutes sorting things out for us, and then the owners son hopped on a scooter to guide us on our way. Amazingly nice people. Restaurant is centrally located but tiny, but pleasant tables set up outside and in view of cool stork nests.

Travelling with 2 of my girlfriends, we experienced dinner our first 2 nights in Selcuk(although not the other 2 nights so as not to seem like stalkers). I say "experienced" because dining with Mehment and his lovely wife was just that. Yes, Ejder has a prime location in front of the aqueduct. Yes, the products of their kitchen are thoughtfully conceived and prepared, consistently succulent, and the best meals we had in 2 weeks in Turkey. However, it was the feeling of being warmly greeted as friends and leaving as if we had become extended family that we will not soon forget. Tesekur Eredim!!!!!!

The food is excellent and freshly made and the owners (Mehmet and his wife) welcome everyone as family. The interior seating is fairly limited but, as the weather is usually so nice, this does not pose a problem. Especially when the alternative is to sit in the sun at one of the sidewalk tables adjacent to a Byzantine-era aqueduct. All the food we tried was so tasty, but our favorites were the pide (Turkish pizza), chicken kebab (which Mehmet freshly cooks in the wood chimney inside) and the lentil soup (prepared by Mehmet's wife - best we had anywhere). All in all - so good we went back for seconds the next day!

This was the best food we had in all of the places we visited in Turkey. The flavors were awesome, the prices were reasonable and the variety was great. Ah and the hospitality was outstanding! All of the dishes are home cooked right when you order them. This is a place not to miss. We had dinner there every night we were in Selcuk and we truly miss their food and their tea.
