I stayed in this hotel a year ago, and I cant believe the reviews!

It was ne of the most relaxed weeks of my life, the staff were really helpful, the food was amazing, always so much choice with the all inclusive. The alcoholic drinks were a bit limited as it was just house brands and the 3 hour transfer was a bit longer than anticipated but other than that couldnt fault it!

The waterpark was amazing, so many different slides and pools to keep you entertained and as its seconds from the hotel it couldnt be more convenient. We also got a free upgrade to a jacuzzi room - bliss!

Dont listen to the bad reviews, this hotel is great.

Me, my wife and our 3daughters aged 7, 9 and 13 went there for 2 weeks (23june-7july 2013). We had a fantastic 2 weeks with great food, swimming, sunbathing and lovely entertainment. Melhi, sausage, jack sparrow, james, benji and all the rest on the entertainment personal, you are all amazing, amazing and wonderful. Funny and wonderful shows. Activitys were great around the pools also. Our room cleaner Suna did a very good job cleaning and putting new towels in our room every day. Food was amazing with diffrent varietys every day. Auntie Sandra and sarah and the kids club personal made my kids really happy. Sandra is amazing with the kids. 5stars out of 5 overall. If i do have to complain about something, it would be about the sunbeds around the poolareas.
After breakfest they are all taken. I stayed in the old club side of the hotel and the rooms needs an upgrade. If you can choose then take rooms on the new side "world" of the hotel. And a big warning of the bag store near oasis restaurant. They overcharge you for their bags, bigtime. The same bags and better is much more cheaper in kusadsi grand bazar (we bought a bag for 90 TL and in kusadasi we found it for 20 TL.) P.S. Dont forget to enjoy aqufantasy waterpark much az possible. I would rate the Waterpark with 10 out of 5. Its 200% of fun and enjoyment.

Summary

Rang room service 8 out of 14 days for the correct amount of towels for the room(you know the things you use to dry yourself with) with these being a family room of 4 we just assumed they'd leave 4 towels -quite often they left two other times none.
They're also not keen on leaving toilet paper -despite ringing guest services on a number of occasions I quite often took to going to the commual toilet and taking a roll back to the room(how cool did I look !)

This is truly an international hotel with English speaking being quite low on the list of languages the reception staff can understand so be prepared for any discussions with reception to take a while.

Be prepared to receive a drink order you didn't ask for from the wonderfully unpleasant bar staff-I'd advise the "two vodka cola light and a vodka soda" if what you actually want is three diet cokes. We played this game for two weeks,it was great fun.

Meal times(or the Butlins experience as I like to call it) be prepared to clear your own table (after a while a family of four can build up quite a collection of dirty plates and cutlery this however does not appear to be the primary job of the waiters who much prefer to watch pretty women walking around)

Don't expect table service for your drinks with your meal unless you are prepared to stand up and make enough hand gestures to park an airplane. The waiters are there to look at women and then subsequently deliver 3 diet cokes which don't taste like the red wine you ordered.

Be prepared to leave any mealtime with the overwhelming desire to throttle some of our brothers and sisters in the international community. The format at meals is to get food before anyone other human does as the world is about to end.To assist you in this task you must queue every mealtime (the hotel prefers to fry one egg at a time on a griddle the size of a snooker table this way a massive queue can be formed enabling the Bulgarians and Romanians and their children to ignore it and just push in.This is understandable and not challenged by the chefs as the world is about to end)

Your one free visit to the "a la carte" restaurant - arrive with no confirmation of your booking despite booking it with guest services 2 days prior.Choose from a menu the size of a post it note.Enjoy the only soup starter so cold they've clearly walked it across from one of the Butlins restaurants.

Please be advised that the Cola/Fanta derivatives have been previously consumed by other humans and then recycled through a complex series of sewers.
The local vodka has been made by local moonshiner's from potatoes and is designed set fire to your colon(ask for a small measure)

The main pool was closed twice due to hygiene issues.I won't go into detail but -sh1t happens.

The Wimbledon final was not shown in preference of the German Grand Prix-this will give you a flavour of the diverse international appeal the hotel has
When I rang guest services to ask if the final was being shown anywhere else they told be to ask at the Irish Bar in the hotel.Very similar to ringing the fire brigade to report a fire and being asked to put it out yourself(3 people watched the Grand Prix in the Irish Bar in the hotel when I popped my head in...) I gave up asking about tennis after demonstrating my serve to the bar man who still could t understand what I was asking for-he just gave me 3 diet cokes .

The hotel will also use any opportunity for you to spend extra-for example at breakfast I noticed a station doing freshly squeezed orange juice,I asked for a glass only to be told it was 1 Euro

The orange juice from the normal machine should just be called "sugar and E numbers"
There was a beach party one night too with cocktails on the beech.....the cocktails were 15 Turkish Lera each(I settled for 3 diet cokes)

The hotel is clean and modern, the water park is good (even though you have to pay for all food and drink in the park and they check your bag to ensure you've not smuggled 3 diet cokes in)
The entertainment programme is good and plenty for the kids to do
The hotel swimming pools are large and modern too(usual though get down at 2am to put your towels down)

There is a local bus the Kushadasi at the main gate that runs every 15 mins and really well priced,I'd recommend escape from the mealtime mayhem in to Kushadasi-it's a really nice place.

The meals and the mayhem that ensues along with the general service really let this place down.
Some of the basic lack of manners from out international colleagues and some of the staff can also begin to erode your enjoyment but maybe I'm just not tolerant of queue jumping, pushing past, sticking your entire head in a vat of soup to smell it what it is,picking up food from the buffet queue then throwing it back in with your hands for somebody else to then pick up -one gentleman even tasted the custard by sticking his little finger in it ...)

Kathy_Guest_Relation, Guest Relations Manager at Aqua Fantasy Aquapark Hotel & SPA, responded to this reviewResponded July 11, 2013

Dear guest,
We would like to thank you for your informative comments and criticism. We highly value and appreciate candid feedback from our guests as they provide great opportunities for us to learn from, and improve our award winning facility, exemplary services, and the food.
We are very sorry to hear about your experience after the fact. We always strive to provide the best possible vacation experience to all our 3000 guests, but sometimes miscommunications and misunderstandings do happen. We apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced.
Regarding your comments;
• We always strive to provide the fastest, and best possible service to our valued guests 24/7. Aquafantasy follows and exceeds the ISO rules and regulations (ISO 9001-2008 and ISO 22000-2005). We apply extra care on promptly identifying, intercepting and addressing health and safety rules throughout our hotel complex. Our housekeeping managers perform the final sign-off to make sure all of our rooms have been double checked before the guests even check-in to ensure all our rooms are in perfect order to provide the best possible vacation to our guests . Similarly all rooms are cleaned, and double checked daily during the guest’s stay at the hotel.
• Our friendly and professional staff work hard, and do their best to make sure that every guest feels special. We will be even more careful about any misunderstandings that may have happened because of cultural differences and language barriers.
• Aquafantasy provides a wide variety of food considering the multinational and multicultural make up of our guests. We have two major, and independent buffet restaurants that serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In many cases, our chefs prepare just-in-time fresh food, therefore, it is possible to be waiting in line for a few minutes to receive your freshly prepared and cooked meal. The hotel also has 2 main restaurants with 6 cultural food themes including Turkish, Italian, Asian, Mexican, Gala evenings, and various International cuisines. We also offer a free complimentary visit to one of our 4 A LA Carte restaurants which include Turkish, Italian, Seafood, and Chinese. In addition, we have three snack bars around the hotel and on the park grounds. While we do the best we can to comply and exceed all health, safety, and sanitation rules and regulations common to our industry, we cannot be held responsible for a guest or two that simply ignore proper sanitation etiquette around the food. We have multiple food station staff that provides real time monitoring of the way guests handle food in all our restaurants and snack bars but sometimes it may take a moment or two to intercept a person sampling the buffet and remove that container from the table.
• Service hours for food is staggered to help our guests avoid rush situations and/or utilize alternate food venues, but during the peak eating hours it is possible that the rooms become crowded with hungry guests.
• The pools and Aqua park all adhere to the health and safety rules very strictly. We do this out of respect for the safety of our guest’s health. From time to time there are some accidents in the pools, but the hotel has 4 swimming pools, 2 indoor pools, 2 kid’s pools, a beach, and the entire Aquapark for guests to easily spend their day in the water regardless of any accidents that occur.
• There is an escalation of rules that takes place in this hotel. When a guest are unhappy with a service, all problems are then reported to the managers of the destined department who then take necessary actions to resolve the problem. We wish you had taken this action and given us the chance to help you and prove to you how concerned we are about our guest’s happiness during their stay with us.
We thank you very much for all your comments as we continue to better our hotel service everyday. We have taken your comments under great consideration and we will do our best to improve our services here at Aquafantasy. We hope to gain your confidence that we are an organization that cares about the wellness and experience of our guests and we hope you will be able to give us an opportunity to show you how committed we are to show that every guest counts and that they are well satisfied with their holiday stay.
Best Regards from the Aquafantasy guest relations team

Just returned from a two week break with our three kids 9,7,4.

Although we had an initial problem with our room we were subsequently moved to a lovely family suite.

The resort is fantastic.Plenty of activities for both adults, water polo, yoga, volley ball, etc, and also for the kids. The entertainment team were great.

The water park has a variety of slides for all ages. Queues were not a problem.

The food that was served was plentiful and nice. Yes you have to queue sometimes but it is never too long. The service at lunch and dinner was good too.

The cleanliness of the complex was second to none. All the staff work very hard. As soon as something is dropped or spilt someone will be there cleaning it.

Overall we will now find it very difficult to go any where else.

Only a few small gripes. One is having to pay for a safe in the room. Should that not be included in the overall inclusive price. Secondly the in house toy shop. We bought a toy which broke after our 4 year old had it for 10 minutes. The shop owner tried to tell us it was not his responsibility. After arguing for 15minutes he finally gave us a replacement. I would stay away. Lastly in house photographers will come and take photos of your kids without permission. I complained when a man was asking my 7 year old daughter to pose as she was coming out of the pool. Guest relations did not think there was anything wrong with that as I was not being asked to buy anything.

Having said all that I am sure we will go back.

I have just returned from 2 weeks at the Aquafantasy with my two daughters 14 and 9. I can't fault the staff who were extremely friendly and helpful, the entertainment team who are so welcoming to everyone and try to involve everyone, the food - amazing choices for vegetarians, and healthy eating which can sometimes be a bit limited, and the standard of cleaning - staff are continually going around the pool and communal areas sweeping and mopping.
Weather was fantastic, although maybe a little hot if you have very young children at this time of year.
The water Park was excellent too with a wide choice of slides. the lazy river was very lazy though - you have to push yourslef along or paddle with your arms or you dont move! We loved the wave machine. You are unable to take food or drink into the water park (they search your bags when you go in) but just drink plenty before you go and pop back to the hotel for lunch.
If you are a lover of fake products then the market in Kusadasi is the place to go, although be prepared to be hassled the whole time. I managed to get a belly dancing costume for my daughter for 15 TL which is about £6 so was quite pleased with that, but had to haggle down from 35. The buses run about every 20 minutes and its 4TL each way per person
The only downside in the hotel itself was some of the other English guests - some of them were extremely rude, loud, and very bad language. This is a family hotel, so I didnt want my kids to be surrounded by constant swearing. i accept that you can get that anywhere at any hotel and its not the hotels fault at all, but it was cringe worthy.
Murat in the restaurant was particularly lovely to us during our stay and we even had flowers on our table at lunch on the last day.
Every day, you have a newsletter delivered which gives you the full programme of events for the following day.
The hotel is right on its own private beach where you can have free pedaloes and canoes, so we took advantage of these on most days. Sunbeds on the beach are also free.
The location isnt great if you like walking - I attempted a walk in both directions from the hotel for about 40 minutes but there was nothing at all in either direction. I think however that the buses seem frequent enough that if you want to go to a specific place, then you can just hop on there.
All in all, great for families though.
