Staying at the Nazar Hotel was indeed a memorable experience. My family of seven and I came to selcuk in early June and stayed here for 4 nights and i would say we had a really enjoyable time staying here. Right from the start of our stay till the very end, Illker, the owner of the hotel had been a very accommodating and pleasant host to my whole family. A really nice guy and good thing is he's so humorous with all his jokes and puns. My father had a headache and i wanted to get medicine at night and he was kind to drive us to the pharmacy to get the meds. Rooms were simple but very clean , nice and cosy. Breakfast was simple (turkish style) but it was quite filling. But the main reason that im giving this hotel a 5 star review is indeed due to its really superb owner and the way he treats his guests. Definitely a great place to stay at.

Spent one night at the Nazar in Selcuk. Nice hotel - rooms are small but clean and we had a/c which was wonderful given it was very hot. The hotel also has a nice small pool in an enclosed courtyard which was a special treat. The staff was very helpful and diligent and the owner spoke excellent english. The hotel also has a nice rooftop terrace restaurant - only ate breakfast there which was fine. The terrace has a spectacular view of the fortress above the city as well as the ruins of St. John Basilica. Very central location as well.

What a find! (Once we found it--the map from the tourist bureau was unclear about streets that appeared to continue, but actually were impassable for cars.) Ilker is a charming, knowledgeable, and courteous host (he also speaks excellent English.) The rooms and bathrooms are spotless. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony/ terrace, watching a dove trying to make a nest on a power pole.

Our mistake was not to consult Ilker in advance about the rest of our travels in that geographic area...he could have saved us time and trouble and we would have been able to stay with him for an extra day!! (We wish we had been able to.)

He also suggested one of the best and most picturesque meals we've ever had--home made (REALLY!--you are sitting in the garden of her home!) boreg (thin pancakes stuffed with vegetables, cheese, and/or meat and cooked over an open fire)--we've forgotten the name, but he'll know from the description.

The pool area is lovely and relaxing in between trips to the local archeological sites. The hotel is also centrally located for the various attractions in this area.

Ilker is what makes this hotel an excellent choice for accommodation. The combination of Ilker’s candidness and hospitality made our stay a pleasant one. He also was helpful in making suggestions for our trip to Cappadocia. The home cooked meals on the rooftop terrace with views were authentic and delicious. The location of the hotel was in a local neighborhood vs. the touristy area of Selcuk, yet only 5 minutes from the nearest bus station. The rooms are very simple and clean – no television, small bathroom, basic room. All the essentials can be found in this quaint hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights recently. The hotel is very clean, and we highly recommend the rooms with a terrace. It was very relaxing to sit on the terrace and watch the sun set with the castle in the distance on the right, and overlooking the town to the left - very charming. The bathrooms are spotless (important to us) and the rooms very clean with great A/C. The staff is great and very friendly, and our bags were taken up to our room as we were checking in - great service! We had breakfast one day on the terrace and would highly recommend it. The new owner, Ilker, was very helpful in pointing us in the right directions, as well as offering to drive us to the atlasjet shuttle stop so that we could make the bus on time. Wifi connection was pretty fast, hotel is located close to "downtown" Selcuk with a variety of restaurants/ bars (5-7 minute walk), and is generally quiet at night (with darker drapes for use at night to make it darker). Will recommend to anyone traveling through in the future.

Room Tip: Pay extra for the terrace rooms - great to sit and watch the sun set.

We stayed here for 3 nights and visited Ephesus, Sirince and around town. Hotel Nazar is a superb family run establishment and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Ilker and his delightful wife are friendly and helpful and made us feel most welcome. Boasting a 'rare in Selcuk' rooftop restaurant, breakfast provides stunning views of the castle and surrounding nesting storks :) a 5 course home cooked dinner is on offer at €10 - we had this twice and enjoyed it. The courtyard area with pool is the BEST place to be and we have made full use of it in the heat of the day. Rooms are clean, bright and spacious. We would definitely return!

Room Tip: We stayed in a superior room no. 201 which had a view of the castle (lit up at night) and the courty...
