We stayed at Hotel Nazar, having travelled in from the Greek Islands. The owner, Osman was able to arrange for a free transfer from Kusedasi as well as to Ephasus and car hire when we wanted to travel further afield. The rooms were reasonably spacious, very clean and excellent value. The meals on the rooftop terrace were excellent, but what sets this place apart from many is the high level of service. The many excellent reviews speak for themselves.

This hotel already has plenty of positive reviews (why we chose it) and it lived up to expectations, so there's no need to add more praise. Just a few notes that may be useful to other travellers…

It's tucked away in a not-so-touristy part of Selcuk, so if you look out the window you get a good feel for village life. Also a bit of village noises.

Rooms are super-clean and functional. The family room in particular is very well laid out. Great views of the castle from our rooms.

Breakfast on the roof terrace is pretty good and very pleasant, though they only start serving at 8 am, so a very early start is not really possible, unless on an empty stomach.

My only complaint, if you can really call it that, is that it's a very quiet and sedate place, not especially cheerful or festive. The owner himself is like that--extremely courteous and efficient, but not exactly bubbly.

Room Tip: Family rooms are great. Deluxe rooms have chairs to sit on, whereas regular rooms often do not.

Very good welcoming reception. Family run hotel. Lower price room for 2 rather small but very clean and modern furniture. Very peaceful if your room is on the garden side - Nice size pool and lovely garden - Very good breakfast.- Owner very attentive to guests’ wishes. Well located - Owner picks up guests at the bus terminal - Free ride to Ephesus. Family provides dinner.

This place is the real Turkey. You've got an extended family all pitching in and helping with big smiles on their faces. Osman speaks perfect english and has more energy than I don't know who or what. The breakfast and dinners are authentically Turkish home cooking and the vistas from teh rooftop patio are lovely. Also the pool area is a great place to meet fellow travelers at the end of the day. We loved our stay here. The rooms have excellent amenities, even screens on the windows and sliders. It's very clean and convenient location to Ephesus. Osman offers lots of extras at great value, from bottled water the same price as the grocery store to wonderful tours with an amazing archeologist. If I had to do this over again, I wouldn't change a thing except extend my stay and bring a bunch of friends with me. My husband will never forget his Turkish shave by Osman's nephew. Great value, authentic culture and fun place to stay.

Room Tip: We had a lovely suite that we were surprised to find separate rooms, (no door separation but still...

We booked Hotel Nazar based on the feedback on trip advisor and were unsure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised with Osman and his staff who all welcomed us as if we were family. Nothing was an issue for them and they went out of their way to ensure every aspect of our stay was fabulous. This hotel is extremely well priced, comfortable and well located to all the main tourist sites. The hotel can arrange guides and anything else you need. The terrace restaurant is great for a cold beer after site seeing and breakfast and dinner was very pleasant

We hope to visit again in the future and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Chose this hotel basis the reviews in Trip advisor and can say was a good decision. From Izmir airport, Osman and his wife picked us up , though there is also the option of taking a train from the airport direct to Selcuk. The hotel is only about 500 mtrs walk from the station.

They offer a free drop to Ephesus in the morning, is located very near to the centre of the town. The rooftop terrace with a view of the fort and the food served are top as well.

This is a great deal—comfortable and clean, within walking distance of historical sites in Selcuk, and offering free transportation to nearby Ephesus. The people that own the hotel are kind and helpful. The rooftop terrace and courtyard pool are heavenly. There's a bit of street noise from scooters and cars in the early evening, but it isn't too much of a disturbance.
