“Hotel Bella really has it all!”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

First -- It's location is great. The hotel is directly across the street from St. John Basilica ... and the Old Mosque is a short walk, great shops and restaurants are also just down the hill. Ephesus is a short drive and the hotel provided the transportation. The hotel drove us up the mountain to visit the small wine town of Şirince (definitely worth the visit). Second -- the restaurant/bar on the top floor is definitely a great place for a Turkish breakfast and/or dinner. It also provides a great view of the storks! Third -- the hotel staff is excellent. They do a great job of making you feel welcome. Lastly -- the hotel is very clean. And they have great wifi.

Hotel Bella is quaint and inviting... however, the bedrooms and bathrooms are definitely small. Also you must be able to do stairs - that is the only way to get to the rooms and restaurant.

An interesting hotel in a good location overlooking Selcuk and opposite the ruins of a significant fortified church. Our room was on the small side but clean and tidy. The rooftop bar and kitchen provided some very good, reasonably priced food and beverages. We ventured into town for food one evening but decided the hotel was a better option and ate here for the remainder of our stay. Staff were very good and the owners had a carpet & ceramics shop attached to the hotel but were in no way pushy for you to look or buy anything which was a nice change from all the city sellers. The items were slightly different from what we'd seen elsewhere and the shop is definitely worth a look.

Room Tip: Some rooms are on the small side so check before booking your stay. Definitely eat here, good food...

We had a very enjoyable four nights at the Hotel Bella in early October 2012. The hotel is beautifully furnished and decorated and in an excellent location on the hill above Selcuk. The room was quite small but comfortable, and there was no TV. The best part of the hotel for us was probably the terrace where we had breakfast and dinner each day. The breakfast was excellent - individually served rather than buffet style, and the dinners were probably some of the best food we had in a three week trip in Turkey. It was just so lovely sitting there with the lights of the town below us and St John's Basilica to the side. Free shuttle to and from Ephesus a plus. Highly recommended.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. The rooms, although small, are beautiful and very clean. The terrace is a lovely place to eat and relax. The food is on par with other local restaurants. It is located close to transportation and all the nearby attractions. They will even provide you with free drop off and pick up to some of these. Their artwork is for sale but no pressure to buy. We did buy some tiles and a plate and they hang proudly in our home as a daily reminder of our stay in a beautiful country.

My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel in May for three nights and highly recommend it. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help us maximize our stay in the area. They arranged free transportation to/from the Ephesus site, and suggested a fantastic lunch stop at the Seven Sleepers site for traditional crepes, which ended up being our favourite meal on the whole trip. They also arranged a great group tour trip to Pamukkale for us.

The rooftop terrace was very comfortable and convenient, and their prix-fixe dinner was great food at a good price. We visited in May, which was great timing as the terrace had a view of a stork nest with young chicks, which was a bonus! We booked very late, and so ended up in three different rooms over three nights just to stay here, but the staff moved all our belongings while we were out exploring sites, so it was no hassle at all. Our first room (two singles) was very small, but functional and cheaply priced. Our second room was a family size room with fantastic balcony and lots of space and natural light. Our third room (a double) was a good size, and very comfortable. Other perks: A/C, free WiFi, and the shop on the main floor. We would definitely stay here again.

I visited in May 2012 and booked a room at its sister the Hotel Nilya. This review is about the overbearing owner who tried to give my room to someone from a tour group when I had a confirmed reservation for two nights dated Jan. 2011. When I said I would not pay for any part of my stay, they suddenly decided I could stay there the second night. He wanted to move me to his cousins hotel!
I also ate at the roof-top garden which has a nice view, but the minute, I finished eating they said they had someone reserved for my table. I was a single guest, They were not moving others away so I surmise that this tour group was given priority. Needless to say, I will not be visiting either establishment. If you do, be sure to have your confirmation at hand and insist that they fulfill their obligations.

Room Tip: Be sure to take your confirmation with you. The Nilya is a much nicer and quiter hotel than the Bell...
