“Amazing place - Must see in Turkey”
Reviewed October 25, 2013

I visited this site a few years back & thought it was amazing, there is so much history & one of the best ancient sites I have been to, I must admit I would definitely go back here on my next trip to Turkey

“Wonderful!”

The ruins of Efes are amazing. Reserve some hours to discover the way of life of this ancient city. Special attention to Celsius' Library and Private houses.

“Beautiful site”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

I suppose no point to repeat what everyone has been saying already. But the library is breathtaking. And it is nice to sit in the theatre and watch the other people. One guy even gave a solo performance and sang something to the audience.

In front of the entrance there are shops and restaurants. I was amazed that they were selling freshly squeezed juice for 2.5€! That's even higher than in Istanbul where the prices are ridiculous.

We had a rental car and there were no problems to visit the place from Izmir. The traffic was easy and the HGS worked fine, AFAIK.

“So rich in history!!!”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

We decided to hire a guide to help us navigate the multilevel history and structures of the site. Sad to say that we did not see the terrace houses because my friend had gotten tired with walking. It was a little bit crowded, but we did not mind. It is a historic site, what can one do? Everybody wants to see it at the same time. It was still worth it altho we did not get to see the Terrace Houses. One more reason for a return visit.

“Best Ancient Site I have ever been to”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

Totally exceeded my expectations. The number of "modern" conveniences - running water, storm sewers, waste management complete with a 40+ hole toilet. A truly magnificent ruin that will leave you surprised.

Semi-wheelchair friendly if you have a strong pusher
