We enjoyed our week at this hotel. The food is excellent and the refurbished rooms and bathrooms very nice. The things which need improvement are:-
1. Air conditioning needed in restaurant! Very hot in there!
2. Lighting needed in amphitheatre at night following end of show. Very dangerous going down steps in pitch dark. I had a nasty fall! Health and Safety would have a fit if they saw it....
3. A list of what drinks are available on All Inclusive. The bar menu has priced drinks but no clue as to which can be had for 'free'. There should either be asterisks against the free items or a separate list available. There seemed to be only two cocktails available, their own one and a Gin Fizz, which is not very good selection!
4. Housekeeping needs improvement. On two occasions, even though we were out on excursions all day, the room was not serviced.

I hope management will take note of these issues and sort them out for the benefit of future guests.

Me and my girlfriend just returned from 7 days at this brilliant hotel, we had booked as a late deal on the Thompson website a week before for £350 each all inclusive! On arrival (after midnight) we were warmly welcomed and offered diner in the restaurant and a drink which given the time it was came as a pleasant surprise. Our rooms was spacious and well looked after, and the air-conditioning worked well. The food and drink all week was excellent, so much choice and good quality to suit all, and the al la carte restaurants were even better (we tried all 3 the Italian, Turkish and the fish) which are all included in the package. Along with the free WiFi (good signal) and the constant entertainment, games, music, pools and beach we were never bored! The staff were some of the friendliest I have met and we will definitely be going back in the near future!

My friend and I have just spent a week in this hotel, which was chosen as it was very near Ephesus. From first to last we were very impressed with this resort. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room was in one of the units in the grounds and was comfortable with a lovely bathroom - it was not huge but had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. The bars and restaurant were all well run. The food was good - my friend is veggie but never had any problem finding loads of choices. The grounds were immaculately kept as was the hotel itself. We had no problems with housekeeping unlike a previous reviewer. When my friend needed to sleep we just put the do not disturb notice on the door handle and the housekeeper came back later. I am so pleased that my friend found this hotel instead of one in Kusadasi. We went there one evening and it was dire - absolutely heaving with people and the shopkeepers kept trying to drag us in off the street. Real hassle and noise and crowds. We booked the full day excursion to Ephesus and this was very well worth it. The guide was excellent and we visited the main site in the morning and Mary's House and St John's Basilica in the afternoon. A must see experience.
Apart from this excursion and the ghastly visit to Kusadasi, there was no need to leave the complex at all, as it provided for all needs. The only niggle we had was the outdoor pool area. This looked very nice but had awful loud banging music most of the time. So in fact we never used the outdoor pool at all but swam in the indoor pool instead. I know there were a lot of children to entertain but the volume of music did not incline us to relax round the outdoor pool - you could barely hear yourself think! So, we spent most of our down time relaxing on bean bags near the Beach Bar. And very nice that was too!

On arrival there was no meal and the receptionists weren't very helpful and they put my children on the 5th floor and us out in the bungalows by the sea. We did find some electrical issues with the room, not many of the plugs worked, outside some of the rooms they hadn't finish the renovations so you found it difficult to find the slot for the door cards!! The cleaning ladies would always come around 5pm (turkish time), so your out of luck if you are wanting an afternoon sleep.
You have to get up early, before breakfast, just to be able to put your beach towels on the beach beds. During the morning and afternoon you are able to smell the drains, which is rather off putting when having breakfast.

There is also a big rush to get into the restaurant, there are a lot of small children and you constantly have to looking where you are walking because they just run around as their parents leave them unattended. Be weary when you get a drink from the bar as in some of the glasses have left over salt, from the dishwasher, around the edge.

Thanks to Amy the rep, who was a great help and it was lovely to she her in the morning and to have a chat with, as she was the only reason why things got done. As whenever you went to reception to get something sorted such as moving rooms, they wouldn't do anything but thanks to Amy we were able to be moved closer to our children.

We returned to the Hotel Richmond for a second year, our holiday last year was so good, you cannot fault the staff, with most of the staff recognising us from last year, the biggest negative this year was the weather, we stayed for 2 weeks 24th May till 7th June (same time as last year) we only had 4 real whole days of sunshine, and the remaining 10 days was rain, overcast and some days very windy, Popeye (the head of animation team) told us the best time to arrive is 15th June onwards to guarantee sunny weather. Diamond, the lady who served behind the bar in the evenings was very attentive to our needs, and the first evening we arrived she recognised us straight away from last year, along with the manager and Popeye , and the waiting staff in the restaurant, from the moment you arrive all the staff make you welcome, we arrived around 10.15pm and the porter met us at the coach as we got off, took our bags into the hotel, then took them to our apartment in A block, garden room. The food is great, be prepared to put weight on. Two negative’s this year compared to last year was the dress code of the guests, a sign is put outside the restaurant showing the dress code for the restaurant, which a lot of people did not follow, some people had the same clothes on that had been worn around the pool during the day, suggest the management turn people away and ask to change into the proper dress code, also, most of the young children went wild in the restaurant, running wild with drinks, plates and just being a nuisance, I am most surprised that an accident did not happen, this is the parents at fault, not the hotel, but I do feel the hotel management should have addressed the issue with the parents. I would echo a lot of the good comments on rooms, food and location etc. which is why we returned for a second year stay, the rooms are cleaned daily, with towels changed each day, the room has a mini bar which is topped up each day with bottles of water, coke and Fanta orange, (we were all inclusive). We did find this year that the music in the pool area got too loud at times and needs to be better controlled, also, the gym facilities need to be looked at, being repaired/serviced, as I was unable to use any of the equipment, as most of the equipment was potentially unsafe. You can get a bus at the end of the hotel, this is so easy as a man control’s this on the street, the market is on Wednesday in the town, but unfortunate for both Wednesdays that we wanted to go the marker traders were on strike, so no market, but you must go if you can as a great experience. The staff in the SPA are also welcoming, a must is a Turkish scrub on the first morning, it prolongs your tan, my tan is still looking good after leaving Turkey nearly a month ago. All in all another great holiday at the Hotel Richmond, a big thank you to all the staff, management and Popeye.

Room Tip: A Block Garden Rooms is not too far from the main hotel, and 2 minute walk to the beach

Just back from a week at the Richmond, overall a great experience which was good value for money. I would echo a lot of the good comments on rooms, food and location etc as there was little to fault, I will come back to those later.
The best things for me regarding the hotel were that whilst not that small a complex it had a nice small resort atmosphere in a lot of areas. There wasn't a need to queue to get drinks and no problems with booking the restaurants which served good food and did not try to be too sophisticated. In the main I did not get the feeling that this was an all inclusive hotel (that is a good thing) except if you ventured down to meals at the wrong time in the main restaurant. This is however down to the behaviour of other guests rather than a fault of the hotel. Looking at the amount of food some people would take back to their tables in one go you would have thought they hadn't eaten for weeks.
Back to the faults, these were minor and could be easily fixed. firstly the music in the pool area got too loud at times and needs to be better controlled. Secondly, being keen at keep fit I was looking forward to using the gym facilities but unfortunately found much of the equipment in need of servicing/repair and because of this some of the equiment was potentially unsafe. Mentioned to our holiday rep who was to take up with the hotel. Didn't spoil the holiday just meant I came home a few pounds heavy than anticipated :0)
In conclusion, we booked this holiday as a last minute thing to get some sun and relax for a few days. This ticked all those boxes and more, we had a great time and met some nice people. I would certainly recommend this hotel.
And finally, a small tip, if you are considering going to Ephesus on an organised trip I would recommend the half day version rather than the full day. The half day is tiring enough and with the full trip you don't see any more of Ephesus you simple go to other places in the afternoon.
Thanks to the Staff at the Richmond for helping to make this an enjoyable holiday, I hope to return again before too long.

Very good hotel, not too big, ideal for families and children. Very good food and the situation of the hotel is ideal. Very beautiful beach and quite. It is possible to go to the centre with the local buses. We enjoyed very much our stay there. All the hotel was refurbished recently and the bathrooms are very modern and so beautiful.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less noise and corner suites are larger.
