“interesting insight into the non-tourist side of Turkish life”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2013

the museum has involved local people in bringing in their photos, memories and artefacts to share, resulting in a very personal yet professionally displayed local museum, housed in a beauttiful building. Admission is free and it's right in the centre of Selcuk.

“Puts you in touch with local life”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

Converted I believe from an old tobacco warehouse in the centre of Selçuk, this little cultural centre / museum kept us occupied for about an hour. There was a fascinating living history project where students from the local schools filmed and interviewed elderly relatives. For me the most interesting films were the demonstrations of traditional dishes. I even made some notes on techniques. An excellent project which gave a lovely insight into traditional practices. when we return we hope to find something equally enlightening at this little gem.
