We stayed at the Saint-John hotel for 6 nights. The hotel looks exactly like the pictures that you are seeing on the website. The place has been open for seven months and is impeccably clean.
The owner and the receptionists were very welcoming, were asking on a daily basis if we needed anything and offered us tea every night on the house.
The breakfast(included ) is very good, the swimming pool was very clean.what more can I say? After travelling for three weeks in Turkey I can say without a doubt that the Saint-John Hotel is a very good deal.

Good service, good amenities, good breakfast, pool is decent size, a nice place to stay with very friendly and helpful staff. There are cheaper options, but you know where the extra money is going. Staff seemed particularly attentive.

Having experienced good & bad Turkish hotels this hotel was a breath of fresh air. The rooms are stunning....beautiful décor and so well appointed. We were 6 friends in 3 rooms and all loved this hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. They arranged to cook us dinner and serve it on the roof overlooking the castle....a memorable experience. The central swimming pool was nice to sit around. Location is good. Parking on the street in front of the hotel. No lift. Free wifi. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Choose a lower floor if steps are a problem. No lift.

This is a good quality hotel: clean, good breakfast, helpful (they drove us to the train station for free which was appreciated).
However, in my opinion the hotel has no real charm, no real soul : decoration & the rooms didn't convince me and felt like 'a small Versailles' to me which was a little far from turkish! Also, compared to what you can get, let's say, in Capadoccia the value for money could be better.
This being said, it is in the centre of the city and can be used as a good base camp to visit the Aegean cost, Ephesus or Pammukkale. The staff is very helpful (apart from one guy who told us that all tours to Pammukkale were full, whereas we actually found a tour through a random agency and the bus was half empty. Maybe he was mad we cancelled a tour last minute the same morning...)

We just got back from a wonderful trip to Western Turkey. We spent three nights at St.John's in Selcuk and the experience was fantastic! We arrived late at night, hungry and tired, and the owner welcomed us and fixed us a sumptuous impromptu dinner, ready in 1/2 hour while we settled into our rooms. The hotel is a former prison which is quite tastefully converted, keeping true to its original structural lines and materials. The location is quite central to visiting many important historic sites, starting with Ephesus. The rooms and common areas are tastefully decorated and are absoutely spotless.
Breakfast is amazingly rich and offers a delectable variety of local delicacies like fresh pastries, cakes, fruit, olives, jams, butter, cheese, and covers the spectrum from cold to hot foods, accompanied by juices, coffee and tea. It was so filling that we didn't need any more food until dinner time!
The roof terrace has an astonishing view of the fort and they serve a grill menu cooked right up there while you enjoy the view under a magical moonlight. Fabulous local wines are available with dinner, and the owner can tell you all about the local vineyards and their specialties, as much as you would like to hear.
The atmosphere is serene and most welcoming and it is clear that the owner wants nothing more than to make his guests as comfortable and as happy as possible.
We had such a wonderous time at this amazing hotel that we intend to return for a longer stay at the earliest opportunity. Can't recommend this place highly enough! Thank you St. John!

The hotel is situated right in the center of the Selcuk. At first sight surroundings is a bit bizarre. It is in the middle of an old and poor street. But don't be fooled by the first impressions. Indise the hotel is very clean and staff is really helpful. We learned that it used to be prison. The atmosphere is great. Breakfast is decent. As a bonus my daughter loved the lovely Iraninan cat of the owners. We enjoyed our stay. Highly recomended.

Price was fair, included a small but nice room with air condition. Walking distance to restaurants, a beautiful pool which is rare to find in the area, and a very nice breakfast included in the price of the room. The owner picked us up from the airport, and returned us on departure day. He was very pleasant as was all of the people working at Saint John. I would definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to others. And yes, I did hear the rooster:)
