Clean. Incredibly Friendly staff in both the breakfast and front desk. More than willing to help and book things for you. Good breakfast. Great location and a good view of the castle from our room.

I think £30 per night is great value.

We drove from Izmir airport (rental car) to this hotel in Selcuk. We used the GPS and it was fairly easy to drive to Selcuk. When we reach the vicinity of the hotel, we made a few rounds until a friendly lady pointed out the exact hotel location to us. As it was tucked away from the main road, the GPS said we have arrived at our destination while in actual fact; it is offset by 50 meters.

The staffs' are friendly. The reception, Jake helped us with the luggage and did a speedy check-in for us. Our room was 2 floors up by a spiral stairs. While the room is small and the bathroom is a tad tiny, they are clean. What we liked most of this hotel is the rooftop breakfast. They have fresh selection of breads, variety of grains, salad and freshly made french toast or omelets daily.

The owner (Jamie) is friendly and accommodating. This is a good place to stay for 2 - 3 days and do some sightseeing. Most of the attraction sites are labeled in brown signboards so locating them are fairly easy.

Additional info
From Selcuk, we did a 2 hours drive to Pamukkale. It is a must see, one of a kind.
Do visit a small uphill town of Sirince. Its about 10km away from Selcuk.

If you are looking for a place to stay near Ephesus, you will do very well to stay in Selcuk at the Urkmez Hotel. The owner is amazing - helpful, supportive and kind. The rooms are good and the breakfast is terrific - all the normal good turkish breakfast foods but supplemented with some yummy hot dishes. The owner even invited us to join in a private barbecue for friends one night and is very very helpful.
Selcuk is also a nice little town for walking around. We were there on Saturday when there is a farmers' market and we had a terrific time buying some fresh pressed olive oil and walking around.
Finally, there is a very pretty walkway you can use to walk back to the hotel from Ephesus finishing off a terrific visit to the site.
And, to top it off - we had a terrific view of the fortress/castle out our window.
Enjoy!

The owners are very helpful and welcoming. They carried our luggage up the stairs and also out to our rental car a block away when we left. The rooms are simple but comfortable. I especially appreciated the welcoming bottles of water. We had a lovely view of the castle and the town from our little balcony. The breakfast in the upstairs breakfast terrace was amazing. Fresh fruit including sweet watermelon, juicy tomatoes, yogurt, breads, omelette and more.

Simply the friendliest welcome we have experienced in our long journey throughout Europe. Jimy and his father had organised a cup of tea even before we made it to our rooms. He offered to take our bags up stairs and one of his sons or nephews carried them back down again the next day. He wasn't selling tours, pushing his family bar down stairs or trying to sell anything at all. They were clear about the service they provided, the cost and went about providing it in a professional manner for a hotel/hostel. The breakfast feast was quite unexpected but totally delicious. A cheap centrally located accommodation that I recommend for anyone traveling to Ephesus/Selcuk.

When I had a change in plans and decided to stay in Selcuk longer than originally scheduled, I booked into Artemis on the recommendation of a new friend and was very pleased! The guys that run this place are incredibly friendly and helpful, going out of their way to be sure you are satisfied. It has a great location, the view from the room was gorgeous, and the place was nice and quiet. The breakfast was amazing and the rooftop view made it even better. Oh, and they have a very affordable laundry service as well!

The only possible downside is that there can be quite a few sets of rather steep stairs to climb so be warned if you suffer from bad knees or the like, but the guys insist on carrying your bags to your room so no need to worry about that at least! The bathroom wasn't amazing, but considering I'd only been staying in hostels I was just glad to have my own bathroom (and bedroom) for a change!

Nonetheless, I consider Urkmez a great place to stay and when I look back on my time in Selcuk, this place is among the highlights! They really make you feel at home and I've never had such great service anywhere else!
