“An okay choice”

This hotel is a 60 second walk from the train station, and a few minutes from the bus station. If you ask them how to get there from the airport, they will set up a very expensive taxi service (which you pay for at checkout, so I assume that they get a cut). Do not do this if the train schedules work with your arrival times.

Otherwise, the hotel is very pretty, with a lovely breakfast, a good location, adequate internet access and showers that are very close to dismal.

We cant think Urkmez Hotel as na hotel, it's more a guest house/pension we have stay in room 202, two bedrooms, two bathroom with shower ( it is a family room)
The hotel is quite, even fully booked.
One of the bath room had some flooding problems.
Hot water... you need to be pacient to find the right temperature (too hot or too cold)
One room is for the parents with AC and TV, the children room hasn't AC neither TV.
However the breakfast is good and fresh, do not expect a great assortment.
We had poor wi-fi in the room but in the lobby and other public places it was very good.
The owner (Jimmy) is the man who make the five star services.
Ask him everything and he will do all the effort to pealse you.
The room was clean.
Location, is central in Selçuk, near bus station, and you can walk to Ephasus (45 min), Artemis temple (15 min), and near nice restaurants.

Before I tell about the hotel, I'd first like to review the owner Jimmy and thank him. His service was spectacular, something we hadn't even expected - very very helpful. We forgot 1 bag in the bus to Selcuk. Jimmy, the owner, took it upon himself to get the bags to us. He made a few calls and made sure that even though the bag had traveled till Istanbul, we got it back in 24 hrs in the exact same shape - nothing missing! He personally sent a guy with the bag to our Pamukalle hotel to deliver us our bag. We were not expecting this amazing support from Jimmy. Rest assured, all travelers will see he how helpful he is.

As for the Hotel, its a budget hotel. Not the biggest of rooms ofcourse but very clean and comfortable rooms and nice breakfast in the morning. Location wise the hotel is ideally situated, right in the center of market and just 5-10 mins walk from Bus Station (Autobus). Would urge everyone to stay here with these great people.

We stayed at Urkmez Hotel for 4 nights in April. Our first night in room 302 was not good and we very seriously considered moving to another hotel the next morning. However we were talked out of moving by one of the very nice brothers who runs the hotel if we were willing to stay and move to another room and receive a discount if we were not happy with the second room (room 304). We were reasonably happy in room 304 and we stayed for another 3 nights.
Everyone working in the hotel was friendly and helpful and gave good tourist advice. The breakfasts were very good - lots of choice and volume.
Room 302 was on the noisier side of the hotel with restaurants and bars which disturbed our sleep. The room had a large double bed with a doona for a smaller bed which was short at each side by about 20 cm. We were pulling the covering off each other all night. The bathroom was very small and the whole floor was flooded after a shower. It was impossible to achieve a good water temperature in the shower, it was either too hot or too cold. Not what we wanted after a bad night's sleep!!
Room 304 overlooked a quieter street with a lovely view of Selcuk castle. It also was set up with a double bed with a too small cover, but we agreed to have the bed changed to two single beds and the two doonas then fitted perfectly!! The bathroom was larger with a proper shower screen and a dry floor. However we still had a problem with the shower water being either too hot or too cold.
In summary this hotel would have got a higher rating if we has not spent the first night in Room 302. The breakfast and friendly staff certainly helped us forgive and forget Room 302

The staff is extremely nice. The breakfast on the rooftop terrace is nice. The Wi-Fi is fantastic! .
We probably did not read to comments properly, because this is a backpacker’s hotel. The rooms are extremely small and without any decoration whatsoever. The door is made of metal and there is a strong sewer odor coming out of the shower drain. The shower (no pressure and water going from very hot to very cold every 5 seconds) consisted of a 40 cm by 100 cm on one side of the bathroom with a linen curtain. In the end, the bathroom floor is flooded. Not a place for a mature couple that wishes for some comfort!
Overall the right staff in the wrong building! With the help of the manager, we tried to move to another hotel, but there were no rooms available. They offered us a small reduction for our disappointment
If you are staying in Selçuk it is probably to visit the Ephesus site. Note that you can walk to Ephesus (3-4 km on flat and safe road)

We stayed here our first three nights after arriving for more then 24 hours of travel from the United States. We had arranged for a pick-up in Izmir (45 Euros) which to us was worth the extra expense to get directly to Selcuk when we arrived in Turkey. We had booked room 304 which had two twin beds and a balcony. It was a comfortable room but very small and cramped, but we managed. The family who runs the place is is very helpful in arranging tours and giving advice about the sights in the area. A great homecooked breakfast is offered every morning on the roof terrace which is icluded in the price. They also offer a laundry service. The hotel is very centrally located in Selcuk with only a five minute walk to the bus stop and lots of great restaurants and shops all around. We could not have chosen a nicer place to stay.

This hotel was in a great location, maybe 5 to ten minutes walk from the bus station. They rooms were clean and had a TV but what really makes this place so great is the staff. The night before we headed to Istanbul we decided to change our bus tickets for a flight cutting our travel time by 11 hours. The owner of the hotel helped us return our bus tickets and arranged our flight and transport to the airport for us! We could not have done it without him! I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in selcuk.
