“lovely in the early morning!”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

Definitely worth a visit! Try to get there early in the morning. The morning light on the water around the ruins is magical.

“Cool to say you saw it, that's about it.”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

It's pretty cool to walk down to the Temple of Artemis and say you saw one of the seven ancient wonders of the world. That's about it. There's nothing there apart from the reconstructed column. In winter and spring you can't go anywhere near anything because of the swamp and the poop. It really wouldn't be a bad idea if they drained that swamp and really let people explore the area - charge a fee if you need to!

“In and out - fast site to see and walk to other sites.”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

There's not much left here - just a single column, some bricks and some water. It's good for photography (the reflections are nice). There's some storks on the top of the column - and also some turtles around the edges of the water if you look closely enough.
Not much to see here - even if was one of the 7 ancient wonders of the world. You can walk from here to the mosque in the background, and up the hill, to the Basilica of St. John.

“Okay as part of a tour...”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

Stopping at the Artemis Temple was part our tour. Although not much remains of the site, it is still something interesting to see that doesn't require much time or any money. It is a good photo spot as you can get the Isabey Mosque, St John's Basilica and what is left of the Temple in one shot. Stop by for a look if you have time.
