We stayed only one night and felt like family. Arrived with a family of 6 adults to visit Ephesus and left the following day trying to figure out how to stay longer! Had dinner and breakfast at the pension. Both meals were great and they offered great advice on the logistics of fitting in all of the tourists sites.

We were really happy to find this lovely place to stay in Selcuk and to explore Ephesus.
The hosts were outgoing and knowledgeable of the area and went out of there way to make our stay great, they even drove us to the bus station even though it was a 5 minute walk. The food was wonderful, fresh and interesting. They prepared local Turkish cuisine as an optional evening meal on the terrace which I would recommend. The atmosphere in the pension was unique, filled with Turkish carpets, pillows and interesting artifacts. We also were in Selcuk on a market day which was better than the Grand Bazar in Istanbul with far better prices. This is a great place to stay and really get to know the people of Turkey. Dervts and Saziye are sincere and great hosts who want your stay to be memorable.

Found this place a delightful retreat away from the tourist areas. The hosts were especially friendly & looked after us very well. We enjoyed our dinner there on the first evening & loved the special touches & the decor throughout, particularly the open bar area. Breakfast was served here also & was beautifully presented & delicious.

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the main block so you are handy for the bar!

We stayed at Homeros for 3 nights while in Selcuk, upon arrival we were welcomed by the lovely hosts and got a small room with 2 beds in it for a good rate. They supply a free breakfast which is amazing!! Feta, tomatoes, bread, yoghurt, pomegranate syrup, olives, orange, grapefruit, strawberries. And some apple tea, black tea and coffee! After travelling for a few days this place was an oasis, stay here, the ratings are well deserved!!

We walked to Ephesus from Homeros early in the morning and it took around 25-30 minutes.

PS. The best value kebabs in Turkey (I think) are just a short walk at Alibabas. :)

The price was a bit more than I would have wanted, but the charming atmosphere and friendly hosts made me feel right at home. It is a great location for visiting Ephesus (40 minute walk) or even a bike trip to the beach (40 minute bike ride). Food was fine, but atmosphere made it most enjoyable. Make sure you take advantage of the roof deck on the top floor! Great for both sunrise and sunset.

Saziye and Dervis are just lovely and super friendly with a great sense of humor. Homeros Pension is for sure one of the nicest guesthouse I ever stayed in. In the first night I was in the pension, I met an american guy who had stayed here 12 years ago and It came immediately to my mind that if I come back to Selcul one day, I would definitely just like him chose Homeros pension again.

First let me preface this by giving a bit of background information. I was heading to Selcuk after coming from an Anzac Day tour, and the tour organiser had arranged our transport on to Selcuk. He never advised me that this was an overnight bus, so I arranged accommodation at Homeros for that first night as well (it was meant to be a 3 night stay). Once I found out this was an overnight bus (the DAY OF the bus) the tour organiser called Dervis Homeros to advise him of the situation. I thought this meant we would not need to pay that night's accommodation, but we were told that if Dervis could not fill the room that night we'd have to pay, and indeed we were charged for it. I understand they would have lost the income for that room otherwise, but I felt disappointed that we were required to pay for something that was not our fault - however that is not Homeros' fault either.

The only other 'problem' was that we were charged for any additional juices we had after the first drink at breakfast and we were not told this - just asked at breakfast if we wanted another drink and then at the end of the stay discovered these cost extra. They weren't expensive but I felt we should have been made aware that only one drink was provided free of charge with breakfast. At most places on our trip, unlimited drinks like tea, coffee and fruit juice were normal at breakfast.

Otherwise we had a fantastic stay at Homeros Pension. Our room was in the second building across the street. The bed was comfortable however the lock and door handle were a little fiddly sometimes. The rooms were decorated wonderfully with traditional Turkish carpets, costumes, wall hangings etc. A little bit of mould in the shower but no worse than most people's homes! Breakfast on the upstairs terrace was wonderful. It is not a buffet like some places but the plate was filled with so much food, even my 6 foot 2 husband was never left hungry. Bread with butter and jam, cheese, olives, tomato, cucumber, hard boiled egg, an assortment of fresh fruit - it was a wonderful meal and the terrace is also well decorated.

Great location, a short walk to St John's Basilica, the bus depot or town centre. Dervis and his sister are very friendly and welcoming and happy to help you out in any way. Excellent value too. If we go back to Selcuk we will definitely return to Homeros Pension.
